The Journey Continues: March 2015
http://jamesallisonandjesse.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 6, 2015. The sun is out today, and even though it is still quite cold, it feels like spring is on its way and I see a light at the end of the tunnel in the 10-day forecast (it might. Reach 50 degrees.yay! Anyway, this is basically just a bunch of pictures of random things the boys have been up to. Jesse built a library one day with the cardboard blocks. Max revisited the walker, even though he could walk on his own at this point. Jesse built a cool machine with tinkertoys. Another great pla...

The Journey Continues: How to Beat the Winter Blues Part 3
http://jamesallisonandjesse.blogspot.com/2015/03/how-to-beat-winter-blues-part-3.html
Sunday, March 1, 2015. How to Beat the Winter Blues Part 3. Another great place to go in the winter (or anytime, for that matter) is the Children's Museum. It is endless amounts of fun for kids, which typically translates into fun for everybody. I really should make it a point to take the boys at least twice a month since we have a membership. Here are some pictures from one of our recent trips. Right now there is a temporary exhibit called Move It,. Jesse had fun digging for dinosaur bones. 8 days away .

Monday, November 18, 2013. Update on Max and a Few Videos, Too. Anyway, that's the update on Max's head. I thought I'd also share some recent videos. Sorry some of them are a bit long.I am too lazy to edit. Here is Jesse showing Max one of his books. He sounded a little bit like a broken record :). Here are the boys bonding. Is one of Jesse's favorite songs these days. Of course Jesse was referring to using the hand dryers, but it probably sounded like he was talking about bodily functions instead. This ...

The Journey Continues: March 2014
http://jamesallisonandjesse.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 4, 2014. I missed the 4-month update, but want to take a minute to document what has been going on in Max's world for the past couple months. He rolled over once from tummy to back last week, but hasn't done it since. He can nearly get from back to belly, but gets stuck on his arm, so he hasn't quite. Made it all the way over yet, but he is almost there. He can sit unsupported for about 5 seconds or so. Max has recently discovered his thumb. Max was listening to Jesse "read" Sleeping Beauty.

The Journey Continues: April 2013

Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Nana and Pop's Visit. Last Thursday my parents came for a long weekend. We had a great time being together and doing lots of fun things. Jesse is still telling me he wants them to "come back over to Jesse's house". He doesn't understand how far away they live. The treehouse section was one of the most crowded, but Jesse managed to get some time in the tent.. The fire truck is always a must-do, and especially the fireman's pole. Then we had a yummy dinner at Leona's, where Jess...

The Journey Continues: February 2014

Thursday, February 6, 2014. When we found out that Max had craniosynostosis and would need surgery, I began scouring the Internet for information, mostly looking for blogs and forums where parents shared their own kids' journeys through craniosynostosis. I wanted to know what to expect, from the actual surgery itself to the hospital experience to the recovery period afterwards. I came across a number of videos that were helpful in preparing me for the whole experience. Tuesday, February 4, 2014. I wanted...

The Journey Continues: October 2013
http://jamesallisonandjesse.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 29, 2013. This past weekend Jesse got to do a trial run in his fireman costume at the annual Tot Lot Halloween Party. I had to go downstairs early to help set up, but James told me that Jesse was so excited to dress up as a firefighter and that when they headed downstairs for the party, Jesse was yelling down the hallway "Everybody get out of the building. There's a fire! Max slept through most of the party, but he was a pretty cute little pumpkin. Monday, October 28, 2013. Later that ev...

Saturday, March 30, 2013. Hiking at the Palos Forest Preserve. Jesse was a champion hiker. I think the loop we chose was about 2 miles, and we think he hiked about 75% of that. James carried him the rest of the way. Of course, Jesse's pace is much slower than ours, so the short hike took up the entire morning, but it was fun to imagine everything from his perspective. Friday, March 29, 2013. I'm so proud of James and all the hard work he has put into his MA program here at U of C, and I have no doubt he ...

The Journey Continues: December 2013

Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Here's what Max is up to at 2 months. At his check-up he weighed 16 pounds and 7 ounces (off the charts) and measured 24 inches (90-something percentile). He is also still sleeping in his bassinet in our room, but I think we will be transferring him to the pack and play very soon because he is outgrowing the bassinet. He is still much like Jesse in this department. He is either extremely happy and smiley or quite fussy. He is definitely having longer happy, content per...Where...
