Amy's Thoughts on Life: June 2009
http://amybarrus.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 26, 2009. Question about "He's Just Not That Into You". So - I watched He's Just Not That Into You a few weeks ago and I was wondering about something. You know how they talk about how girls tell each other stories - basically rumors - that help each other get along with their specific situation? An old roommate told me a story once about her friend who chased a guy, rather than the other way around, and he married her. Is this one of those stories that's an exception? For most relationships...

Amy's Thoughts on Life: September 2009
http://amybarrus.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 2, 2009. A tribute to Brooklynn, Eck and Jack-Jack. It's time for a tribute to my sister Brooke, her husband Eric and their son Jack. No - it's not their birthdays. No - they didn't buy me a house or a Jaguar (mmm.Jaguars.). No - they haven't died - but they might as well have - they're moving back East. Just joking! No, really - Steph! Keep reading this post! I promise my cheap shots on the East Coast are done. PS - I was thinking the other day about how the president of the US is r...

Amy's Thoughts on Life: May 2009
http://amybarrus.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 5, 2009. Man, I love these kids. As per a request from a few people, here are pictures of my team. Not in action, which hopefully I'll get in a few weeks when I have more time, but they're still pretty awesome. Since I was the only coach to be at picture day (I'm not even sure the kids remember my dad now) I was in the team picture and picture with my "child". A bit awkward, but I guess I have been to the most games so far, so it's all good. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Amy's Thoughts on Life.

Amy's Thoughts on Life: Amy Does a Sleep Study
http://amybarrus.blogspot.com/2009/12/amy-does-sleep-study.html
Sunday, December 6, 2009. Amy Does a Sleep Study. I was thinking about all the books we read to kids to introduce them to things like Kindergarten and the doctor's office and the dentist. Mostly I remember Mercer Mayer's Little Critter books that told me about his adventures getting a new sibling or being babysat. But I'm kind of anxious to see what's going to happen and wish this was a topic covered in those Little Critter books.". It was kind of like a hotel room, except there weren't any windows, and ...

Amy's Thoughts on Life: October 2009
http://amybarrus.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 6, 2009. My hat's off to you, William Goldman. So, I just finished reading The Princess Bride by William Goldman. It's been one of my goals to read some of the classics that I've somehow missed over my past 23 years. However, even though it was fake, it made me think of some other books that would be thoroughly awesome if the boring parts were chopped out of them. Here is my list of ones that come to mind:. Crime and Punishment - really? It took her 10 pages to walk down the stairs?

Amy's Thoughts on Life: Seriously MI-5?!?!
http://amybarrus.blogspot.com/2011/09/seriously-mi-5.html
Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Good ol' Netflix suggested MI-5 to me, and since I'm going to London soon (have I really not posted about that? I decided to give the BBC show a go. I don't have the most discerning taste in entertainment- as in I don't usually care about the plot holes or blatantly repeated themes in shows. I mean, the more I watch a show the more I pick up on them but they don't usually bother me and/or make me stop watching the show-which is still half true in this case. 15 main characters&...

Amy's Thoughts on Life: March 2011
http://amybarrus.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 23, 2011. I need a vacation.companion? So I've been at my job a year now and lately I've been thinking about going on a hardcore vacation- I mean like a week or two to Florida or a cruise or to Europe or SOMEthing. Can I just say that it's really hard to do when you're single and don't have a go-to person for vacations? Now, I know some of you independent types are saying, "Well, why don't you just go by yourself? You can do it! To that I say: I definitely could. But that's not a vacatio...

Amy's Thoughts on Life: Hercules and middle school
http://amybarrus.blogspot.com/2010/07/hercules-and-high-school.html
Tuesday, July 13, 2010. Hercules and middle school. It's kinda hard to blog when you work somewhere that you don't feel right divulging stuff that happens at work to the whole wide internets. Especially with HIPAA moles everywhere.probably reading this blog post right now, wondering how I'm violating patient health information.Well I'm not! Back off Big Health Brother! I have often dreamed. Of a far off place. Where a hero's welcome. Would be waiting for me. Where the crowds will cheer. I will find my way.

Amy's Thoughts on Life: August 2009
http://amybarrus.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 12, 2009. And, yea, verily I thought about writing about my job. But when you work for the government, kind of - I'm a contractor, and get security clearance and have to go to a totally secured building with a siren flashing when you're in a room because you don't have top level security clearance, and take a quiz on what you can and cannot use and do when on an Air Force computer, even when it's unclassified, you get a bit paranoid. I've probably said too much already. Life is fascinat...
