Well, after giving up on the written word, I contacted the City Council by phone and got a return message from a Mary on Thurs 31 July in the Traffic division who had asked Aidan the engineer who said that the audio signals would be installed once all the visual signals are in place, in a couple/few weeks time. Q: Is this fine and dandy? Q: Could the original audio signals have not been left in place until the new audio signals were installed?

I don’t know where the order came from – Mr Waits or the general gig management - but there was a hold on people just wandering in during a number and all were held back from entering the main arena of the tent while Mr Waits was performing. Brilliant! You can just picture the rehearsal where that was decided…”Hey, lads, look at this! Do it on stage!
