Run Your Own F* kin Con. In memory of Con-Tiki : the dream con never to be. The Ballad of the Unrequited Ditmar. 7th May, 2011 at 11:58 PM. Shane C. didn't like the results of the Ditmar Awards. He thought too many were won by friends of Alisa K. Making the point that she was convenor of the event in which the awards were presented. He also had a go at Amanda R . For winning a Ditmar when having a close association with the con. Shane garnered some initial support by a handful of people. Such as Alan B .

Bollocks of Leadership - Run Your Own F**kin' Con

Run Your Own F* kin Con. In memory of Con-Tiki : the dream con never to be. 17th Mar, 2010 at 11:32 PM. Convenor, it is on your head. Deal with it. So you prepare your bid for the business meeting and realise that someone has to be the convenor. A con committee needs a convenor, once referred to as the chair. The tradition and structure of conventions is that it is a gathering convened by one said person at a particular place and time. And as such you have a convenor. What happens from here depends; the ...

Run Your Own F* kin Con. In memory of Con-Tiki : the dream con never to be. The Dirty Linen Better Be Dirty. 24th Apr, 2010 at 4:14 PM. I’m looking forward to steering away from the political internals of con committees and talk about more fun fan things like award ceremonies and masquerades (wigs, lycra and capes, oh my). But I have a bugbear to get out of my system and that’s the public resignation. 5 comments Leave a comment. 24th Apr, 2010 08:32 (UTC). True Just not in every. I did resign as a commit...

Horror - waylanderpk
http://waylanderpk.livejournal.com/51124.html
Mar 25th, 2009 11:55 am. Once Upon a Time in Mexico. To me horror movies peaked in the 80's, but I'm actually looking forward to Sam Raimi's 'Drag me to Hell'. I've always thought Raimi's Spiderman movies went from so so to blah, but His 'Evil Dead' stuff is exceptionally good - The 1st was shot on about $50000 USD over a few years, and still scares me - no matter how many times I watch it. With out too much guilt I can honestly say I'm looking forward to 'Lesbian Vampire Killers'. I thought 2 was ok, ex...

The Dust Forms Words: Games of the Decade: #35 - #31

The Dust Forms Words. Established 2006; consigned to shambling undeath since 2009. Friday, January 01, 2010. Games of the Decade: #35 - #31. 35: Super Smash Bros Melee (2001). If you prefer it but Melee. Is the Smash Bros. 34: Final Fantasy X (2001). I personally think Final Fantasy X. Is the best traditional JRPG (Japanese Role Playing Game) released this decade and its lifetime sales figures seem to agree. Whether or not it compares to to the much-loved Final Fantasy VII. 32: The Darkness (2007). Takes...

The Dust Forms Words. Established 2006; consigned to shambling undeath since 2009. Tuesday, January 05, 2010. Games of the Decade: #30 - #26. 30: Guitar Hero 2 (2006). XBox 360, PlayStation 2. There's no doubt the Guitar Hero. Franchise is one of the defining icons of this gaming decade, but singling out a particular entry is tough. The original is certainly a candidate, as is World Tour. Which appropriated the Rock Band. 29: Halo: Combat Evolved (2001). Game, but it's a pretty damn decent one. Isn't goi...

Jerusalem Maths - Lay me down in the tall grass
http://loic.livejournal.com/127702.html
Lay me down in the tall grass. Jan 25th, 2010 at 6:18 PM. Last Friday we went on an alternative archaeological tour. Neighbourhood of East Jerusalem. The tours are run by Israeli archaeologists who feel that the archaeology done in the area often referred to as the City of David. Jewish people feel a strong historical connection to Jerusalem, but so do people of many different faiths and cultures. In the city's 3800 year history it has had many rulers and been consistently home to different people...

Book and Manga Reviews. Pirates of the Burley Griffin. A schedule bears the same relationship to reality as Astrology. Thirty Days of Anime – Day 6 – Most Annoying Anime Character. Posted by John Samuel. Asymp; 1 Comment. Within the context of the original Macross. Lynn Minmei is annoying but necessarily so. Certainly her presence within the original is not enough to qualify as the most annoying anime character ever. In that sense Minmei is exactly who she has to be. The problem is that in order to maint...

The Dust Forms Words. Established 2006; consigned to shambling undeath since 2009. Friday, January 15, 2010. Games of the Decade: #15 - #11. 15: Animal Crossing (2001). Actually to be honest it's the DS Animal Crossing. That was the one I fell in love with but whether you played that, the original, or the recent Wii City Folk. Published in Australia under the lamer title Let's Go To The City. It's pretty much the same game. There's no action in Animal Crossing. 12: Half-Life 2 (2004). Is an amazing achie...
