A Poetic Phase

Monday, September 9, 2013. I believed all along in controlling the tints of horizons. Orange hues shifting to red and pink. And later to the darkest and most abandoned blues. Here is a place where it’s okay to believe:. Unchecked emissions and glutinous vapors escaping. The first shift of a late night dumpling stand. If you read enough, drink enough,. Romanticize the neon streets enough. Perhaps a plateau will arise with expansive vistas. To the west is a literal past. To the east literal future. Androme...

A Poetic Phase: January 2013

http://www.apoeticphase.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, January 29, 2013. This should probably start as an apology. For all the deforestation i could not stop. And the unethical treatment of monkeys caged. But i was deep into my delta waves. When the plunged syringe drew away. I'd like to remember things as they were. When the earth and sun and tribes were young. Oh, how smoke dancing in light held us for days. Or were willfully double blind. Between our fingers, between our tips. Insert time and space. Insert mega cities reaching the heavens.

A Poetic Phase: July 2011

http://www.apoeticphase.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 31, 2011. Haphazardly peeled and strewn. Where prospectors take dividends. Wire balances to offshore holdings. Leave intricate messages with teenage doorman. It's really brutal to realize. A window in the the spring. Sweat to your brow. Black to your tips. Where we stay in bed thinking. If only we had the foresight. To walk backwards through time. If you really look closely. You'll only see exhaustion. God takes liberties with the speed of light. There's dew on the stem of a rusted umbrella.

Chronicle of Girl: February 2011

One girl's musings on life, culture,. Her mishaps as an adult,. And her awkward childhood. Saturday, February 12, 2011. Books, books, books! Ever since I finished Aimee Bender's The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake. In September, I have been having a hard time finding writing that will keep my attention. I have recently become a fan of fiction again, but fiction that sometimes I might be embarrassed to admitting, though who I am I trying to impress, really? Last week I ordered The Truth of the Matter, Th...

One girl's musings on life, culture,. Her mishaps as an adult,. And her awkward childhood. Tuesday, July 12, 2011. My First Teaching Dream. But my anxiety isn't inhabiting my every thought, so I was surprised I had my first teaching dream last night. I wondered. This isn't enough people for a group activity! Those aren't professional shoes. You're wearing Crocs while teaching at a university? I thought to myself, they just couldn't hear me. The next instructor, a new instructor, too, showed up for her cl...

Chronicle of Girl: August 2010

One girl's musings on life, culture,. Her mishaps as an adult,. And her awkward childhood. Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Laziness, missing noses, bums, pap pizza, and hatchets. Here are some highlights for the week, though. 1 During a fight in the Boise area, a man bit off another man's nose. WTF? 2 I saw a homeless man today wearing a sign that said "KICK ME FOR A DOLLAR." A friend and I talked about how the sign grammatically means, kick the guy, and. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). When It Bites, It Bites Hard.

One girl's musings on life, culture,. Her mishaps as an adult,. And her awkward childhood. Friday, January 17, 2014. December 24, 2013. No, mom. Try again," I replied. You sound like such a teacher right now," my sister said. "I'd have lost my patience by now. Better you than me.". I was trying to teach my mom how to shut down her new Chromebook I'd gotten her for Christmas. Um, is it this thing? That says, shutdown? I exclaimed in a way you'd praise a new puppy for going pee outside. How did she do that?

One girl's musings on life, culture,. Her mishaps as an adult,. And her awkward childhood. Thursday, December 30, 2010. At one time, we lived across the street from a strange, poor family that buttered their sandwiches with a lot of mayonaise- and the parents used to ask each other when making sandwiches for each other "Lou? You want it thick on the mayo or thin? Tuesday, December 28, 2010. When I Spill Tabasco, I Touch Myself. That's a likely story. Unless you spilled it directly on your pee hole, right?

One girl's musings on life, culture,. Her mishaps as an adult,. And her awkward childhood. Sunday, May 30, 2010. Splatter: a Story About Friends. When I was 16 years old, I bought my first car. This was after the destruction of the first car I drove in high school, my mom's red 1986 Hyundai Excel. I planned for the Hyundai to be my car forever and always, that is, until I got creamed by a woman in front of Hawks stadium. It turns out, he was lying. Maybe From a suicide? Friday, May 28, 2010. One girl's musings on life, culture,. Her mishaps as an adult,. And her awkward childhood. Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Nerdy Birdy, Look Who's Turning Thirty. There is nothing more depressing than reading the New York Times. And comparing myself to others in my age group that makes me nervous. Born in 1986, she just turned 25. She still gets to fuck off and drink a lot and wear meat suits, but she is easily now a millionaire (billionaire) and shits gold records. I will never shit gold records, thoug...Bette...

"They probably found an error in your taxes." *blink blink* "Right, but this is supposed to be random, and it is the second time it has happened to me." "It happens to me all the time" she said. *blink blink* It was probably the first smart thing she said. Wouldn't your parents make sure you don't. Screw up your taxes?
