Peace Out | This is Ellen in New York City
https://lookattheitineraryplease.wordpress.com/2010/11/22/peace-out
This is Ellen in New York City. So…The time has indeed come for Kirsty and I to ship back to Blighty! The last 6 and a half weeks have been overwhelming, underwhelming, drunk, sober, challenging, hilarious, difficult, beautiful, affirming, changing and everything in between. But I don’t want to be negative about it! I have truely had a good experience because what constitutes this for me, is the ups and downs! Our relationship has been tested and we have grown so much as a double act! All this said…...

Jo's Basement Blog. Just another WordPress.com site. Another One Bites The Dust…. November 27, 2010. Yesterday was my last day at The Basement (except for a meeting on Monday where I am going to present my marketing ideas), this however was eclipsed by something else happening. Julie our venue manager walked out. She gave no notice, has no job to go to and has forfeited over 130 hours overtime. Having observed and been part of how The Basement interacts with its staff I can say it leaves a lot to be desi...

This is Ellen in New York City. From bad can come good. Something about taking a photo of this site, when I am really just a tourist in this city didn’t feel right. But here is a picture representing what is currently being built in the place of the twin towers. No place called home. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. The Basements Artistic Policy | Jo's Basement Blog

Jo's Basement Blog. Just another WordPress.com site. The Basements Artistic Policy. November 13, 2010. Their Artistic Policy is so incredibly wordy and jargon filled that it could possibly mean anything. It seems to me a piece of text that has been written for the Arts Council and not for their audience. From → Uncategorized. Larr; What do you mean you don’t tweet? Ooooh I’m Glad I Scratched that! Jo's Basement Blog. Just another WordPress.com site. Micro scooters, you try doing that anywhere else in the country and not being beat up! Eventually I could take it no more, and after a brief visit to see Leo’s brother we made the decision to move here for 6 months. An alternative had to be found. When looking on gumtree one day we found an advert for a house boat on Brighton marina and everything fell into place. I’ve been living in Brighton for 3 months now and my opinion on Brighton hasn’...

Jo's Basement Blog. Just another WordPress.com site. Ooooh I’m Glad I Scratched that! November 13, 2010. The dynamics in the office since I performed at Scratch! Night have completely changed. They are so strict about seeing work before they show it but then they have a couple of artists who are allowed to do what they like. I am however not going to shoot myself in the foot and I am ecstatic that I have the support of The Basement for my work, and am thrilled by how well my Scratch! Leave one →. You are...

This is Ellen in New York City. Working Women’s Festival. There are hundreds of bars, but most of them empty…or half filled…it always feels like we are on the outside, or like everyone has been invited to a party we know nothing about…The same such thing occurred this very evening…. I thought…I am doing a one woman performance piece about women (or close enough) next term in Into The New…This is exactly the sort of thing I should be engaging with! 8220;The first piece was disappointing. * ”-. This is Ellen in New York City. Despite walking past Ground Zero nearly everyday on my way to work, we still hadn’t find the right time to go and experience it fully. I wanted to allow it the space and actually the respect it deserved…it’s not exactly the sort of thing you can wizz round then go off ice skating. My Last Day as a Dog. From bad can come good. →. Jo's Basement Blog. Just another WordPress.com site. It’s A Risky Business. November 1, 2010. I’ve been quite harsh in my criticisms of The Basements programming, and so far have not yet offered any solutions. This I feel is not a constructive way to go about my blog, so to come up with some ideas I thought of a venue that I believe is successful in presenting new and exciting work and really considered what the difference was between the two companies approach to programming was. With Into the New, The ...
