USA Paragliding: July 2011
http://usaparagliding.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 15, 2011. Land of Castles and Lions. Josh and I made the 15 km drive to El Barco de Avila to see it’s castle. We walked around the castle but, as all good castles are, it was impenetrable. No unlocked doors, no windows, no way to see inside. Jack capitalized on the wind and flew with it to the pass at Tournavacas. As for me, I was on task to see what was in that castle! 2011 USA Paragliding team. Tuesday, July 12, 2011. USA Paragliding: Sunday
http://usaparagliding.blogspot.com/2011/07/sunday.html
Sunday, July 3, 2011. Starting to wake up after the 10 hour time change! Today was a long day! Some of us started early to get a jump on the registration process. OMG I guess I'm pretty spoiled with the PWC which usually takes less than half an hour! A single piece of 5mil Mammut Pro Cord running continuously from the speed bar up through the riser pullies was the ticket for me. Never have I had such easy access to all the speed so here's hoping I can respect it at all the right times! Tomorrow is not ju...

USA Paragliding
http://usaparagliding.blogspot.com/2011/07/with-moderately-strong-west-winds.html
Tuesday, July 5, 2011. With moderately strong west winds forecast, a 153km task to the NE was set. This put us on course to dodge several bits of airspace. The window opened fairly soon after the task meeting and we had 20km to go to the start. So there was a bit of a rush get ready, eat some sandwich and launch into a "fresh" breeze. After a climb I could relax a little more and the groups came back together while skirting the corner of the Madrid approach. Then 20km farther there was a smallish square ...

USA Paragliding: Competition Cancelled
http://usaparagliding.blogspot.com/2011/07/competition-cancelled.html
Saturday, July 9, 2011. Most of you have heard by now the competition has been cancelled. We have not posted in the past couple days as we have been in limbo regarding the future of this event. Much of our time was dedicated to our failed attempt in finding solutions to convince the FAI and CIVL to allow us to continue. Our team and the majority of the teams here are exasperated with their decision. We have strong opinions of specific matters which we will share in upcoming posts. July 9, 2011 at 11:21 PM.

USA Paragliding: Day 1
http://usaparagliding.blogspot.com/2011/07/day-1.html
Tuesday, July 5, 2011. Howdy folks this is Brad Gunnuscio and Im here to tell you about day 1 of the 2011 Paragliding World Champioships. Woohoo I knew then this is going to be a great competition for us! You can imagine my relief. after that I started leaving the climbs at 2,700 and still was getting ripped into the sky, I started looking for gliders sinking and taking any sinky line I could get. The Team spirit is high folks we are focused and the sky is the limit! Until 3,048 meters that is ;). Thanks...
