After last weeks cancelled joint Birthday Walk for Tom and David we managed to fit in a Birthday walk for Tom on his actual 72nd Birthday today. We did a 7 mile walk at Copshaw Holm and were lucky for most of the walk with the exception of one heavy shower of rain during the last mile. Wednesday, 15 April 2015. Glendinning and Greensykes Walk. The only way to check the sheep these days and must save miles of walking. of course each shepherd has a much bigger flock to look after. And just a few of his many sheep and lambs. This house seems to have been empty since we were last here, yet it still looks in quite good state of repair. Maybe it is now just a holiday cottage, but it is very remote. The trees have all been felled so it is now a much more open walk. 16 April 2015 at 15:28.

At the furthest away point from the station we came upon this Quaker Burial Ground with only a couple of gravestones in it. Lunch and Martin and Tom have stopped speaking to each other. Thursday, 12 June 2014. A Day in Newcastleton. Holm Bridge over the Liddel. Looking south over the bridge you get the impression the Liddel is actually 2 rivers but they soon merge at the corner. This is Tom standing on the top part of Mangerton Tower which was a formerArmstrong fortified house. Thursday, 14 May 2015. Kingholm Quay and a visit to Tom in DGRI. Bluebells blooming in a flower bed in the grounds of the Crichton. We walked further along the banks of the Nith and returned by a lane and road for lunch in the Swan Inn at Kingholm Quay. It is a very busy pub and provided us with an excellent lunch. From the park we had to take a shortcut through a field to the Hospital. Several things of beauty in this post, not least Tom. Glad to see him looking well. 19 May 2015 at 15:45.
