Saturday, September 28, 2013. We had a great garden harvest this year and take a look at these heirloom tomatoes! I've been able to put up lots of pickled foods and sauces, not to mention what we got to eat fresh. So tahnkful for God's bounty. Here is a shot of our garden with the heavy mulch we laid down around it. It was wonderful not having to weed it this year and very rarely did we have to water it. It may just be worth all that work. Saturday, September 28, 2013. When the Amish and Mennonite workers were done, we had this beautiful sidewalk, window well and cement retaining wall. I can't imagine how the water can get in there now. I also had an opportunity for patience as before the workers even left, someone's little footprints were accidentally imbedded in the corner of the new sidewalk. :) Not a major thing in the grand scheme of life. Where has the time gone? We celebrated as a family but also with a friend sleepover party, her first one. They were a delightful group of girls throughout the evening and it was quite possibly the first time we didn't have to constantly nag kids at a party to be quiet and go to sleep! I hope that someone might come upon this and have gone through or are going through the same as we are going through right now. So, what do I do from here, I have no idea. STAYCATION DAY 1: "PLANTING PINWHEELS". 1 49 degrees sunshine=good times playing w/neighbor friends outside. 2 "Planting Pinwheels" for CAPS. 3 Bike ride w/cousins. What a great evening for planting pinwheels and planting an important life lesson for giving to others and being apart of something bigger than yourself.
