I arrived and was immediately ripped off by the taxi driver, but only because I should have negotiated a "no meter" taxi before getting in. Are you Chinese or Japanese? Thursday, December 21, 2006. Severely hungover the next morning, we set off to "trek" to a tower that would provide some amazing views of the islands. The next day we headed back to Hanoi and I was nothing but glad to be leaving the over commercialized environement of Halong Bay and the not-so-good food as well. When I returned to Hanoi, I headed to the train station to take the night train to Sa Pa in the north. Which features very high mountains. Lots of minority tribes.
