The Annual Health Bulletin of the Health Department of 2001 -2005 in Sri Lanka clearly shows a substantial increase in hospitalizing for major injuries /disabilities related to brain and spine. The 2002 Annual Health Bulletin says that such cases have increased from 1732 cases in 1980 to 3619 cases in 2001 per 100,000. Since these statistics are collected only from patients seeking treatment in the Government Hospitals.

The Opening Ceremony was held on 1st of October in 2015 on request of Rev.Unapana Ariyadhamma Thero the Director General of Arogya Foundation of Sri Lanka with the guidance of Mr. Andy Soh in Singapore the adviser for Arogya Foundation with the financial support of Venerable Di Yin in Taiwan.
