The Capture | meyerses

I am a curious barn owl. I wonder if I’ll ever find my family again. I hear the sound of authority. I see owls getting moon blinked around me. I want to fly. I am a curious barn owl. I pretend to be moon blinked. I touch flecks in owl pellets. I worry about my family. I cry for those owls around. I am a curious barn owl. I say what they want to hear. I dream of flying. I try to fool them. I hope we can escape. I am a curious barn owl. I am Rose Blanche. And we are givers. And we are givers. I cry in pain...

ZorgamazoO | meyerses

August 30, 2011. 8212; by meyerses @ 1:01 am. I can’t wait to read “Zorgamazoo” to my third grade class! It is such a fun and interesting book. The book is filled with words that even I don’t know the meaning to. I think it would be a cool activity for the kids to write down words that they don’t understand. They could look up the meanings in the dictionary and use them in a sentence. This will help them broaden their vocabulary and practice writing also. Leave a Comment ». September 1, 2011. 8212; by meyerses @ 2:39 am. Blogging in the classroom also is a great way to show parents what their students are doing during the day. In my classroom I would especially like to have blogging so students can see the progression in their work. Having a class website that all students have access to will help create a family like environment. Students will have a sense of pride in their work. Leave a Comment ». September 20, 2011. 8212; by meyerses @ 1:57 am. Another idea I had to motivate students who are on a lower level is to read to them a book that is on a level a little higher than theirs. The book should also be extremely engaging for those particular students. If they like the book and you leave them with a cliffhanger half way through they will be so much more inclined to want to become a better reader so they can finish the book! Leave a Comment ». Poetry | meyerses
https://meyerses.wordpress.com/poetry
A lot of people think that poetry must rhyme, on the contrary poetry has so many different forms. As a child when ever I was asked to write a poem I made sure that all the lines rhymed. I felt that it wasn’t a good poem unless it did so. After reading. 8220;A good poem is a slip-of-a-thing. That celebrates language, that takes. You on a short journey and touches your heart,. Turns on your imagination, or tickles your funny-. Bone somewhere along the way.”. Here are a couple examples of his creativity:.

Extending Acrostic Poetry Into Content Learning: A Scaffolding Framework | meyerses

September 13, 2011. Extending Acrostic Poetry Into Content Learning: A Scaffolding Framework. 8212; by meyerses @ 3:58 am. Doing so will allow students to throw away the belief that their poetry can be “wrong” or having the feeling that their creations are being judged. I also, like the idea of teachers modeling their work in front of their students. Also, having other students display their work will provide comfort to students who might be a little nervous about sharing their work.
