David was born in 1958 in Cape Town, and lives in Cape Town. He completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Fine Art (with distinctions) at the Michaelis School of Fine Art at the University of Cape Town in 2011. The University of Cape Town's Works of Art Collection has acquired two prints from his graduation work, Gated Communities.

Is primarily a photographic study of the aesthetic of the ordinary and the everyday that references the strong relationship between work and identity. The body of work hints at the cost to self-identity resulting from job loss in light of the massive job losses caused by the current economic crisis.

För att ge någon sorts prisbild så har jag på gallerisidan angett några riktpriser för de olika motiven och teknikerna. Så här kan det se ut när ett porträtt växer fram. Steg 1 – förlaga. Steg 2 – skiss. I det här fallet har jag först gjort en skiss med hjälp av traditionell teknik i form av penna och papper. Skissen har jag sedan scannat in och fört över till dator. Steg 4 – klart.
