Drawing and Painting 1. Drawing is the basic function of art; a function of the artist that never stops. Drawing 1 is designed to instill a strong basic vocabulary of techniques, terms, and materials. Line, value, perspective, and form are explored through observational drawings and in the first half of the course a wide variety of dry art media are explored. Drawing and Painting 2. Drawing is a learnable, teachable skill - Dr. Betty Edwards. Drawing and Painting 2 builds upon the knowledge acquired from Drawing and Painting I. Students work with media at an advanced level (often getting to choose their medium) and are given more creative freedom as they begin to develop a college level portfolio. At this level, students are expected to apply what they've learned in previous courses in order to solve real-world creative problems. Sketchbook: 8.5 x 11.

My favorite part about making a work of art is the time invested int0 the process. I'm a renderer, layerer, and blender with a passion for detail. Although I work in many different mediums, the two I work with the most are colored pencils and computers - something I've recently combined in a series of works about my children.
