Back in 2004, I came across the paper “ Change in the Presence of Fit: The Rise, the Fall, and the Renaissance of Liz Claiborne. 8221; by Nicolaj Siggelkow (it is long, however, reading about the fashion industry was so interesting! Based on the author’s concept of “Fit”, to anticipate the need of change we must:. Performance drops when the in...

The Sewing Box: Business card makeover
http://jillscarson.blogspot.com/2012/08/business-card-makeover.html
Thursday, August 16, 2012. I have a confession to make. I have boring business cards. Plain, boring business cards. Nothing to write home about, right? A little bit of stitching, a few bright buttons and they're a little more me. I still intend to come up with new cards (which will most likely feature the fabric peacock feathers), but these will do for now. For now I'm off to enjoy the gorgeous weather and listen to my neighbor practice (classical singing). Perhaps a wolf update soon?

The Sewing Box
http://jillscarson.blogspot.com/2012/08/its-been-six-months_15.html
Wednesday, August 15, 2012. It's been six months. Six months of waiting and whining and putting things off. Six months of annoyances, distractions and procrastinating. And I promise I won't be gone this long again. Here's the elusive whale piece. I don't know why it took me so long to finish. It just kind of sat there, patiently waiting for the final stitches. I have more half completed projects that I'm working on. They'll be up as soon as I can get around to it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

K I hope to be back into some sort of schedule. For now I'm going to post a little of what I've done. Judy Garland for a distorted portrait assignment. A hooting owl for one of my promocards. And a sleepy fox for a series of Russian folktales. Forever and always,. Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Monday, May 10, 2010. Lubin Hous...

The Sewing Box: An Update!
http://jillscarson.blogspot.com/2013/03/an-update.html
Saturday, March 2, 2013. Life is funny, plain and simple. I could go on spurting cliches and idioms, but I'll refrain. Lots of changes (hence the lack of updates), and more to come. I plan on posting some small back-logged projects. Fall brought quite a bit of crafting. Actually, that's an understatement. I apologize for the poor lighting and the sheep pillow case.haha. In order to get these to look as authentic as possible, I had to complete the following steps:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Sewing Box: Adventures in sewing...machines.
http://jillscarson.blogspot.com/2012/02/adventures-in-sewingmachines.html
Monday, February 6, 2012. Adventures in sewing.machines. I'd like to call the above "Quest for the Gray Fabric". It didn't turn out so well, but at least it forced me to organize. I've upgraded from a large basket of "good fabric" and a trunk full of miscellaneous scraps, to storage drawers of good fabric and. a trunk full of scraps. Baby steps, I say. The Sewing Box: April 2010
http://jillscarson.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 24, 2010. So this what happens on a sunny Friday afternoon in Syracuse. After a couple hours of cutting, tying about a hundred little bows, and a few hot glue burns I have 75 perfect little swatches. Perhaps I'm somewhat of a masochist. Lovely. Oh well, I think I'm taking tomorrow off to rest and then it's back to work. Open portfolio day is Wednesday and there's still much to do. But for now I say adieu! Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Giving this another shot. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Sewing Box: June 2010
http://jillscarson.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Rainy days and Tuesday always get me down? The unreliability of the weather always irks me. Here in Syracuse it goes from being 90 and absolutely gorgeous to humid, rainy and overall icky in the matter of minutes. Or a day or so. Nothing we can do. About that though other than complain and I'm the queen of that. I've been playing around with embroidery techniques on old linen and it's actually really therapeutic. I like placing stitch after stitch after stitch. I. Well hi there,.
