Art by Sheila

Friday, July 26, 2013. As I was talking with a friend of mine this week the topic of being stretched as an artist came up. There are times in art when the creative juices just flow and other times when we feel dry, crusty and barren. Those are the moments you would give anything for a spark of creativity. Our conversation turned to the idea that we are either growing or flowing as an artist. Thursday, June 20, 2013. Girl with a Pearl Earring. At the High Museum. Located in The Hague, the Netherlands.

Monday, May 27, 2013. What Makes You Happy? After a google chat with my mentor and a group of artists, I came away with one idea resounding. Over and over in my mind. Find what makes you happy and become an expert at it." This statement struck a chord within me. Mastering something requires a large investment of your time. Sunday, January 21, 2018. A post from way back in 2012. Monday, December 3, 2012. I like this quote by C.S. Lewis:. 8220;Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original. Whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring two pence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it.”. Just wanted to share that. Oh, and anyone need a commission? Or want to invest in a Children's Book of mine?

Art by Sheila | Oil Paintings by Artist Sheila Hibbert

Welcome to Art by Sheila. I have always had a love for art, and a fascination with nature; particularly birds and flowers. I've spent many an hour watching the wild birds at our backyard feeders, or hummingbirds as they race from feeder to flower then to another feeder. When I took up oil painting several years ago, I discovered that it was a great way to enjoy both art and nature. I am teaching a. Beginners Acrylic Painting Class. At Hobby Lobby located at Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road and Walther Blvd.
