The Random Ramblings of a Kendo Newb. Sunday, June 26, 2005. Footwork is something I need to work on - I feel I have my shinai swing ok but don't have my balance right. Need to concentrate on a few areas. 1) More weight on left foot and remember to glide, glide, glide. Speed is not everything - get the cuts right - especially when doing Kiri-kaeshi! 3) Practice fumikomi - i just can't get it together at the moment so need lots more practice! Kiai is a must! Need to get some focus and routine back in my life and get back into Kendo - In the words of some marketing guru - "Nike! Posted by Mick @ 12:34 AM.
