The Cobbles of Colonia del Sacramento | KingLilith
https://kinglilith.wordpress.com/2015/07/14/the-cobbles-of-colonia-del-sacramento
The Cobbles of Colonia del Sacramento. July 14, 2015. I have never in my life seen a better sunset anywhere else in the world than I did later that day. The best way to describe Colonia is through pictures, so here are a few I took on our short stay. Buenos Aires: Take 1. Montevideo’s Mixed Messages →. 7 thoughts on “ The Cobbles of Colonia del Sacramento. July 14, 2015 at 3:57 pm. Wow, that sky has a million colours. July 19, 2015 at 1:13 am. From Gringo to Gaucho: Horse Riding on an Estancia. July 21, 2015. On our way back from Montevideo to Colonia del Sacramento we stopped off and spent a few days on an estancia, a horse farm in the middle of the countryside, called El Galope. We stayed with Miguel and Monica who introduced us to rural Uruguayan life. We stayed in a converted stable, with views out of our window of rolling green fields and, of course, lots of horses. Montevideo’s Mixed Messages. Buenos Aires: Take Two →. When we went to Co...

Buenos Aires: Take Two. July 28, 2015. We came back to Buenos Aires primarily because it’s the easiest way to get back into Argentina from the part of Uruguay we were in, but we decided to stay in Buenos Aires for a further five nights to be able to do the things we had missed out on the first time. Here’s what we got up to on Buenos Aires Round Two. Also in the Palermo barrio, but closer to the main roads and metro stations is the Buenos Aires Botanical Gardens. Less iconic than the botanical garden...
Continuing through Córdoba | KingLilith

August 10, 2015. After a few days in Rosario we continued on to Cordoba, Argentina’s second largest city. We had heard good things about the culture, night life an the things to do in general, so we thought it might be a bit like Buenos Aires but perhaps a little less stuck up! I have to say, we were disappointed, and fellow travellers we’ve met since our visit to Cordoba have said the same. We rented a lovely flat from a very friendly couple called Gabi and Edgar,. Mendoza and its Malbec →. We conclude ...

August 3, 2015. The Panama river stretches the length of Rosario (and beyond) and I think it’s a real asset to the city. For purely aesthetic purposes it makes walks in Rosario really pretty. There are several stretches of long park beside the river and even though it’s winter, the sun was shining and we took the opportunity to sit outside in the sun with a beer, watching the boats pass by. Mendoza and its Malbec. August 12, 2015. 8221; or just shrugged their shoulders and told us to wait. By the time the bus did arrive we were no longer annoyed, but just grateful we would be getting to Mendoza at all. The next day we booked our first tour of the whole trip, we usually a. The Lanterns of Hoi An. October 9, 2016. With it’s traditional Vietnamese buildings, multi coloured lanterns, lush green countryside and white sandy beach, it’s no surprise that Hoi An is a very popular Vietnamese destination. It quickly became one of my favourite places on our Southeast Asia trip, and you could tell that many people felt the same way. It was very busy … Continue reading →. Montevideo’s Mixed Messages | KingLilith

Montevideo’s Mixed Messages. July 19, 2015. After a few days in Colonia we got a bus three hours East to the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo. Over one third of the 3.5 million Uruguayans live in Montevideo, and you get the sense that it’s a mini Buenos Aires (montevideanos probably wouldn’t like it being described as that! I felt a lot more warmly towards Colonia del Sacramento, which was small but welcoming, and a lot prettier than Montevideo. Montevideo is a pendulum swinging between good and bad; I ...

A Wandering Elf - A Wandering Elf
A Hobby within a Hobby. Subsequent years yielded slightly better results during my attempts making at faerie dresses and creating costumes from the Elfquest comic series. Finally, in college, I discovered the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) and that launched me onto the path of costuming and research that I still follow. I started this journal as a way to keep record of my progress and experiments. I also hopes that it serves as an outlet to strike up dialogue with those with similar interests.

A Wandering Feast – Adventures in food, fitness and wanderlust
Adventures in food, fitness and wanderlust. Sri Lanka Day 2. We packed a lot into half a day in Colombo yesterday and took a car in the afternoon to Kandy. It’s only 140km but the drive took more than three and half hours. The idea was that we spend the night in Kandy and head out this morning for a four day trek through the Knuckles Mountain Range (more on that later). Five highlights and observations:. Hoppers, string hoppers, dosa and more for breakfast. A typical vegetarian lunch. December 30, 2015.

One day at a time. This is what I'm up to. Saturday, December 22, 2012. I'm writing this from the lounge at the Central London Youth Hostel (a lovely place, by the way - would definitely recommend! There's a football match on tv (ATH vs. ZAR - side note, turns out ATH stands for Athletic Club Bilbao, which.aren't they all. Is this one team particularly MORE athletic than the rest? If so, shouldn't they have won enough games that I would have heard about them? I keep finding myself staring at hugely expen...
