Thursday, October 29, 2009. Birthday Blahs, Puppy Paws and Stuff. So as some of you know Tuesday was my birthday. Just after midnight I came to my computer and found a card, sitting on my keyboard. There was an ITunes. Children of Earth DVD and some little odds and ends. Plus some cash to order myself something from one of my many catalogs. ;) Normal birthday procedure is at the very least dinner and a movie or vise versa. Miss Scarlett has a new fave toy this week, it's a paper towel tube. LOL.

Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Joe put our tree up last night. Just for me, so he said. I do like the sparkly lights. LOL When he was working on it he found a couple of ornaments that brought back a very clear warm memory. Maybe next year, I'll take Lil Bit to her picture with Santa. Wednesday, March 30, 2011. I'm going to start with the older woman in the back, because this is a picture of her with most of her grandchildren. Missing are my Mom, Aunt Nancy Wagner and Suzanne Ussary. Next to Paula is her brother Phil. I don't remember much about him. He always kept to himself. I keep in touch with his girls on facebook. I remember being at a party at his house, I think it was Christmas or New Years. All the cousins were there and it was a wild night. ;). Missouri, United States.

This gave me the opportunity to travel on the Settle to Carlisle railway. In the opposite direction). This is a famous line, a remarkable feat of Victorian engineering and a tourist attraction in its own right. It was threatened with closure 25 years ago and saved by a vigorous public campaign. Being informed in a globally-connected world. March 13, 2013. Imagine that, Brazilian beef for sale on an island in Hong Kong for USD 1.30 per steak. I was amazed. I wondered how this can be possible. I started wondering about the conditions under which the beef was grown, whether forests where cleared to provide such inexpensive meat, what feed was grown for the cattle, what energy footprint was being created, whether this was really ethical. Is this information worthwhile? Is this information overload?
