Happy and healthy — who needs alcohol anyway? | ayearinsobriety

A soon to be dad's attempt to go sober for a year. Happy and healthy — who needs alcohol anyway? October 26, 2014. Is anybody still reading? If so please accept my apologies for neglecting the blog for so long. I could come up with a host of excuses as to why my focus has been elsewhere, busy looking after Georgie, busy at work, busy getting fit and being healthy but the truth is that while all those things are small factors, I’ve not blogged in a while because I’ve not felt like I’ve needed to. So, the ...

A soon to be dad's attempt to go sober for a year. A year in sobriety……. January 1, 2015. So, I did it, a whole year sober and a new, better version of me. When I started out on this road I was unsure as to what I was looking to get out of it all I knew was that I had to change. Reading back to some of my original blog postings now and I can still remember the nervousness, the innocence and the vulnerability of those early posts. Was I an alcoholic? Would I be able to do a year? Everyone with children wi...

Have yourself a sober little Christmas… | ayearinsobriety

A soon to be dad's attempt to go sober for a year. Have yourself a sober little Christmas…. December 20, 2014. Ho ho ho it’s Christmas time, and party season, and I’m almost at the end of my ‘A Year in Sobriety’ challenge. I shudder at the thought of the person I have been at various points in my early life. I’d like to think that I’ve always had a good heart, but I know I haven’t always shown that side. I’m not sure you ever can really and fully reinvent yourself certainly not in a small town like the o...

The only man in the room: March 2014
http://theonlymanintheroom.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
The only man in the room. A blog about one man's journey - that journey depends on the day and my mood, but can include weight-loss, cycling, communications, local government, food, music and more. Wednesday, 19 March 2014. Thoughts on leaving local government. After more than ten years in local government – the majority of those in communications – I have recently left the sector. Dan and Darren have both blogged about the positives and negatives of working in local government communications much more e...

My Life in Thailand | Travel, food, climbing, and adventures
My Life in Thailand. Travel, food, climbing, and adventures. Railay – Day 6. I hoped it would stop soon and we headed over to the Muay Thai wall and climbed the following:. This area is sheltered a little bit. It was raining off and on but not too hard so the rock was a little damp but not too bad. Some patches of rock were very wet though from seepage of past rains through the rock but most was ok. I led Hello Christine 6a. And then Alone 6b. Because all three anchors are in close proximity to each other.
A Year In Sketch
Sunday, February 20, 2011. Sketch #7 Free Thought. I doodle. I doodle when I am on the phone at work. I doodle on my kids (who doesn't like sharpie tattoos? Why does a doodle look the way it does? This is what happens when I doodle on purpose, in an art book. I wouldn't call it art really, just what a my brain looks like I guess. This is my oldest son Kason. I've always sketched him in caricature. Maybe I should finally illustrate that children's book my wife wrote. Sketch #5 Self Portrait. This was an e...

A Year in Skirts. November 10, 2012 · 10:18 pm. Saying goodbye here and hello there. Hi Skirty friends. I’m sure you guessed it was coming. I’ve decided to stop posting to this blog although I’ll be posting at another! My enthusiasm for sharing my outfits has waned. I’m sorry. I’m not a shopper (have never been) and it’s pretty difficult to have a clothing-based blog when you’re not into shopping! Helping Each Other Every Day. Have a wonderful day! Filed under A Year in Skirts. But this last pic does lea...

A Year In Spain. A journal of my year in Madrid, Spain. My experience of the economic crisis in Spain. February 24, 2013. Besides people asking for money on the streets, I honestly can say I have never seen so many homeless people in my life. Albeit the climate in Spain may permit it more throughout the year than the United Kingdom, but during this past winter I have experienced weather far colder than what we’re used to in Northern Ireland.
