Boro 1 – 2 Leicester: A blast from the past | Ayresome Gates
https://ayresomegates.wordpress.com/2013/08/04/boro-1-2-leicester-a-blast-from-the-past
Linthorpe Road, take me home…. Boro 1 – 2 Leicester: A blast from the past. August 4, 2013. I would say stop me if you think that you’ve heard this one before but you would. Have to stop me and it would be the end of the blog. Leaving the Riverside after Boro’s opening day defeat to Leicester I must have heard a dozen people dejectedly say it was just like last season . The first day didn’t teach us anything, it just painfully reinforced what we already knew. After the break it reverted to the mono-minde...

Linthorpe Road, take me home…. Football without sentiment is nothing: Why I’m devastated Mogga’s failed reign is over. October 21, 2013. It started, not quite with a kiss, but a quote. This has always been my club ever since I was a little boy and my dad took me to games I can still smell the Bovril at the back of the Holgate End. His tenure as manager ended disastrously with an embarrassing defeat to a team anchored to the bottom of an average league with large question marks looming over many of his de...

Following The Boro!: May 2015
http://followingtheboro.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 26 May 2015. Was it a bad dream? It got more difficult, bang another goal for Norwich a double blow the lively Redmond with Norwich 2nd. 2 goals in 3 mins. It was a guttering end to a great season, at moment it’s hard to see the positives missing out on automatic promotion by a few costly games and losing in the championship final playoff. Will we get a better chance of going up? We know how hard this league is to get out off. I cant help but think was a massive opportunity missed. On Monday 25t...

http://followingtheboro.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Friday, 19 October 2012. Few Things On The Boro! Stephen McManus loan deal to Bristol City went through this week, I never understood why you loan a player out to strengthen a team in your own division especially with our injuries in defence. Our Captain Rhys Williams is out til The New Year, Woodgate won’t play every game in this league leaving us with Seb Hines and Bikey. A bit thin in the defence department! Just a word on captaincy at the Boro. Since our skipper Rhys Williams got injured in the c...
Following The Boro!: My Vote

Monday, 28 April 2014. Player Of The Year. Young player of year. Is an easy choice Ben Gibson with 23 starts before the Reading game. He has had a great season in the first team and is one of the positives from the campaign. Favourite goals of the season. Albert Adomah v Doncaster - his chipped goal. Jacob Butterfield v Birmingham - Back to goal turned and hit a great strike. Mustaphol Carayol v Blackpool - nice curved finish into the net. George Friend v - Forest Great Thunderbolt shot. Girl On a Terrace.
Following The Boro!: STEWY DOWNING COMING HOME!
http://followingtheboro.blogspot.com/2015/07/stewy-downing-coming-home.html
Thursday, 16 July 2015. STEWY DOWNING COMING HOME! 2-3 weeks later and he is on the verge of returning to the club after leaving the club 6 years ago. What can I say? I am excited to see the best player out of the Boro academy in my opinion return and play for the club again. I can only praise Steve Gibson yet again for pulling this deal off and making it possible. What a signing the signing of the summer! I can’t wait to see the first images of Stewy back in a Boro shirt! Thursday, July 16, 2015.
Following The Boro!: Away At Huddersfield!
http://followingtheboro.blogspot.com/2014/09/away-at-huddersfield.html
Friday, 19 September 2014. As the transfer window come to an end, our squad took a new shape with the new signings of Jelle Vossen, Patrick Bamford (for the season) Yanic Wildschut coming in. After a two week international break, it was back to league football with a trip to Huddersfield for the Boro. Over 3,500 away fans travelled to the John Smith Stadium in West Yorkshire, creating a great atmosphere throughout the game. Rarely did Huddersfield have the ball in attacking areas possibly twice in 2.

Sunday, 20 January 2013. Bad January Strikes Again! Let’s face it, the game against Leicester should never have gone ahead. The only reason it did, was the power of sky and the TV Money it brings. Following The Boro!: November 2012
http://followingtheboro.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 20 November 2012. Emmanuel Ledesma started against Sheff Wed at home, arguably his best game in a Boro shirt. He was lively, his range of passing was superb, playing some delightful through balls, one set up Justin Hoyte to score a beauty! What a great Friday night it was at Riverside against Sheffield Wednesday the build up to game was so much better with a big crowd, a packed train to Middlesbrough I could hardly hear the BBC Tees commentary! Unbeaten Run comes to an end. Girl On a Terrace.

Sunday, 10 February 2013. Sticky Patch For Boro! It was a disaster start from Boro yesterday with Barnsley taking an early lead when Jim O’Brien shot took a massive deflection of George Friend and Past Steele. After that it was painful watch and looked like being a long afternoon! No question about it confidence is low in camp right now. We looked fragile, passes going astray, panic clearances hoofed up field. Looked out of ideas, no organisation it was chaos! Let’s be as one and beat Leeds!
Following The Boro!: Wembley!
http://followingtheboro.blogspot.com/2015/05/wembley.html
Saturday, 23 May 2015. On Monday 25th of May 2015, a busy bank holiday Monday I and thousands (40,000) of other Boro fans will be at Wembley to cheer our team, Middlesbrough Football Club, on in a big stake Championship Playoff Final game v Norwich at National Stadium. I have been lucky enough to have visited the new wembley on two occasions. Both to watch England qualifier games. Middlesbrough can return to the premier league after spending 6 seasons in the Championship. It would be fitting to clinc...

Thursday, 30 August 2012. The transfer of Joe Bennett to Aston Villa came about on Tuesday before our league cup game v Gillingham, news came out that Villa had made a bid for our talented left back. After further discussions the following day Middlesbrough accepted a bid and player travelled to Birmingham for talks. It all happened pretty fast with the transfer confirmed early evening for fee believed be 4.25m. It could be a quick return to the Riverside next season for the talented left back! It’...

Ayresome Gates | Linthorpe Road, take me home…
Linthorpe Road, take me home…. Coming to terms with life without Mogga. April 21, 2014. As melodramatic as it sounds, the news of Tony Mowbray’s dismissal as Boro manager, which came six months ago tonight, felt painfully inevitable in the way the mind responds to the eventual death of a loved one who has long suffered with illness. For Mogga’s disciples it was both inevitable and numbing. Much of that belief is invested in the club’s Teesside core and was perfectly embodied by having a homegrown manager...
