En Ayurveda hay un específico muy importante, cuya toma es muy saludable y beneficiosa ya que regula los tres doshas, las tres energias, en el aparato digestivo. Su nombre es Triphala, y este nombre se debe a que es un compuesto de tres frutos, (tri= tres; phala= fruto). Uno de los frutos es el Bibhitaki. Su nombre latino es Terminalia belerica.
