As I read the paper and feel the change in Nepal, it is hard not to think of my students. It is an intense thing for me to pass by an armed officer with an automatic rifle, but what is that like for a 6 year old? How do they understand this? Links to this post. Monday, July 21, 2008. Something, will you? My answer was always “Of course! Can you do nothing? 8221; And as most discernments it was my heart that won, and so I took a stand, with trembling hands, legs, and voice, but with a strong heart and community behind me. Links to this post. Tuesday, July 1, 2008. 8221; Needless to say teaching class 1 keeps me on my toes. One of my favorite things about the school is the swimming pool, not because I like swimming so much, but because it is a round fountain that...

Some Mad Hope: December 2007
http://somemadhope.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 14, 2007. I hope this finds you all well and enjoying the holiday season. As I have mentioned Christmas is pretty non-existent here, but I have been doing my best to make up for it! Which for those of you who saw Strack G last year know this is something I take seriously, though we don't have a tree to take up our whole front-hall way but I'm working on decorating a nice house plant. I figured I would update you a little on all that has been going on here. It is when 8 different teams co...

Some Mad Hope: April 2009
http://somemadhope.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 25, 2009. Let the wind carry you. If you hold on to the handle, she said, it’s easier to maintain the illusion of control. But it’s more fun if you just let the wind carry you. I felt here. In the past two years, I have been brought to my knees by Nepal and lifted back up by this same place. Enjoyed it. People stop by unexpected, and you are expected to do the same.
