Life on Nebraska Court. Sunday, May 28, 2006. Killer Bees of Summer. I don't think life around people would be so tough for the little guys if they hadn't been tagged with the nickname "killer". It's complex with its own lingo and around major airports controllers can get snippety if your not on top of it. And they really don't want hear "say...Wheth...

Life on Nebraska Court. Sunday, September 10, 2006. I Want Yummy Goldfish. Hmmm, plump and gold, just the way I like them. Only feet from the pond, he was making his breakfast selection. Marilyn and I had glimpsed him before but I never had time to photograph the culprit. I wonder if my head will fit through that mesh? After a few shots through the door, I stepped out on the patio. He just looked at me and slowly moved away. I'll just walk around the pool until he goes back in. Posted by John at 9:57 AM.

Life on Nebraska Court. Sunday, December 17, 2006. No Hot Shower Today. Didn't stock the size needed for the tight fit in the tiny cabin bathroom. With tools, supplies, and a new heater loaded, Jim and I set out to get some work done. Weather forecasts proved accurate. Chill and strong winds prevailed in the high country. We decided to tackle inside work first. The first order of business was paying a visit to the Lakeside- Pinetop. This can't be good for local property values. A fine looking installation.

Life on Nebraska Court. Sunday, March 26, 2006. As I grew, the clothesline became more of a hazard than an amusement. Since it nearly spanned the entire yard, I often found my head snapped back as walked into the line which was about face high then. I guess my father was right about the line sagging from me hanging on it. Posted by John at 1:21 PM. Sunday, March 19, 2006. I piloted the plane back to the air park and made another OK landing. Ann and I were a little woozy since I had done a couple of s...

Life on Nebraska Court. Sunday, October 29, 2006. With beautiful Fall weather in the air, Marilyn and I decided to take an evening cruise on Tempe Town Lake. We packed up some wine and trail mix and drove to the dock. Being successful at smuggling our party supplies on board, we pulled away from the dock and headed for open seas/lake/river. Under the Mill Avenue Bridge. Evening turned to night and lights illuminated the city around us. We shut off the motor, cracked open the wine, and life was good.

Life on Nebraska Court. Sunday, April 30, 2006. The Green Grass of Summer. Warm weather awakens the dormant lawn again. I've been mowing lawns for over thirty years now as this season approaches. Although there is satisfaction in maintaining your own yard, I've come to the realization that narrowly avoiding heat stroke, breathing dust, and having my arms shredded by various thorned plants has dampened my enthusiasm for yard maintenance. Posted by John at 8:51 AM. That was a close one! You Look Like What?

Life on Nebraska Court. Sunday, November 26, 2006. Up on the Housetop. The day after Thanksgiving is officially "put up the outside Christmas lights" day. Personally. As night fell, the family would all march to the sidewalk to view the turning on of the lights. When I turned on the lights there were o ooh's. Usually reserved for fourth of July fireworks. Marilyn always commented on how the display could be better, and I would always say "yeah, maybe next year". Sac are also getting smarter or lazier sin...

Life on Nebraska Court. Tuesday, December 14, 2004. It cost $5, had no fenders, was painted black and red by brush, and sported old worn yellow handgrips smudged with the grime of previous owners. But here's the thing. It was the best vehicle I'll ever own. Posted by John at 2:44 PM. View my complete profile. Well, it went like this. Fun at the Cabin. Ann and Peter Engaged. Im having the beef.
