http://boomer-nation.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Real Life in a Fifties Body. Tuesday, September 26, 2006. It is the reverse of what Washington fears; instead of hoards heading to el Norte, our friends in Mexico and much of Central America are experiencing a southward invasion of gringo Babyboomers. I'm seeing lots of articles. About the rush to buy up prime real estate and retiring in Mexico, Guatamala, Panama. Takes it much further:. I'd love to live in a warm, inexpensive and hospitable climate. Can you buy Prilosec in Costa Rica? Ray, Jerry Lee, Fa...

Real Life in a Fifties Body. Thursday, February 02, 2006. Age shall not weary us. At 85 years of age, Morris married Lou Anne, a lovely 25 year old. Since her new husband is so old, Lou Anne decides that after their wedding she and Morris should have separate bedrooms because she is concerned that her new, but aged husband may overexert himself if they spend the entire night together. After the wedding festivities, Lou Anne prepares herself for bed and the expected "knock" on the door. Morris, somewhat e...

Boomer Nation: June 2006

Real Life in a Fifties Body. Monday, June 12, 2006. Over at the blog, ringtonia. They are reporting that a high frequency sound that shopkeepers have been blasting out of their storefronts has kept teenagers away. The curious part is that people over 20 can't hear it. Kids hear a high-pitched mosquito noise while us codgers hear nothing but the wind in our vanishing hair. Your 35-year-old teacher will never hear it. Neither will I. Brilliant. Real Life in a Fifties Body. Thursday, July 27, 2006. 25 Signs You Have Grown Up. 1 Your houseplants are alive, and you can't smoke any of them. 2 Having sex in a twin bed is out of the question. 3 You keep more food than beer in the fridge. 4 6:00 AM is when you get up, not when you go to bed. 5 You hear your favorite song in an elevator. 6 You watch the Weather Channel. 7 Your friends marry and divorce instead of "hook up" and "break up.". 8 You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14. 16 You take naps.

Real Life in a Fifties Body. Thursday, October 06, 2005. And now the bad news. Time to suck it up and do the reality check: Alzheimer's currently aflicts some 4.5 million people. When the Baby Boomers reach 2050, it's estimated that as many as 16 million of us will have the disease. But there is a difference between AD (Alzheimer's Disease) and just the vagaries of the dimming mind of the aging. In the article, Aging and Memory: Understand the difference between forgetting and Alzheimer's. Good bye, James.

Real Life in a Fifties Body. Sunday, July 10, 2005. Anything but "old." Un-young? Hardly. Today's New York Times Magazine has a piece on middle-aged Boomer eyewear you might want to check out. It's title Optic Nerve. And talks about Amy Sacks Eyewear. A high-fashion eyeglass business for Boomers created by a woman who retired from a successful business, Ann Sacks Tile and Stone. Named for her 21-year-old-daughter, the company offers "simple, architectural" shaped glasses which sell for around $85. To All...
