Sunday, August 9, 2009. What's in the daily news? I'll tell you what's in the daily news. What is in the daily news (or most recent celebrity gossip and updates to personal blogs) as they say in the lyrics to a song in Guys and Dolls? Well I can tell you using the speedier online form of accessing this information known as RSS feeds and their feeds or aggregators. Have you seen this symbol, k. Wanted dead or alive. What am I blathering about? And software based aggregators Google Reader. And Hilary McKay...

A Voyage Into the World of Web 2.0. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; The Digital Divide. The Private Lives of the Not So Rich and Famous. March 7, 2010. As communication technologies advance, so do our desires to communicate, collaborate, and achieve more. And how can we achieve more, if we’re not working together? After all, 2 heads (or thousands) are better than one. In the U.S.) or fair dealings. The Glass is half empty. The Glass is Half Full. Creative Commons also works internationally.

It Is Not Finished | Walking with Web 2.0

Walking with Web 2.0. Just another WordPress.com weblog. It Is Not Finished. I remember when I read through the blog post assignments feeling that same feeling in my stomach as I had stood in line waiting for the rollercoaster. Can I learn how to create a Podcast? What is an RSS feed? What are Animoto and Voicethread? Can I successfully make connections on Twitter and Facebook? What have I gotten myself into? And while writing every blog post, including this one, I wondered do I have a good hook? This le...

Wednesday, July 29, 2009. What's the buzz, Tell me what's a-happening? Title this week courtesy of the fabulous yet definitely of its time musical Jesus Christ Superstar: here is a snippet. I wasn't quite sure what to expect with the subject for today's blog and I was slightly puzzled as I thought that we had already covered all of these areas? So with an open mind I began research by looking at the trailfire of suggested sites to whet our appetite and.was even more bemused. Many social networking site, ...

Sarah Goetz's blog: What is yet to come.
http://sarahvanaheim.blogspot.com/2009/08/what-is-yet-to-come.html
Sunday, August 9, 2009. What is yet to come. The Future' according to Leonard Cohen is all doom and gloom. Is this how it will be or something of a more enlightened and idyllic nature? Where do we go from here? As they said in the Buffy musical extravaganza episode. It sounds like a bad idea, but is actually fun even if their voices aren't always spot on (I recommend the song about evil bunnies). An article in ESchool News entitled " Survey shows barriers to Web 2.0 in schools. Describes the chasm betwee...

Sunday, August 2, 2009. Happy Talkie Talkie Happy Talk. A wonderfully silly version of the song covered in the mid 80's by Captain Sensible (also with the UK punk band 'The Damned'). This video was from Top of the Pops a now defunct music show I have fond memories of. Social networking is a way of sharing information and encourages broader communication by allowing access to a wider number of people (i.e. friends of friends of friends). CommonCraft. Social networking has been around for a long time and t...

Wednesday, August 5, 2009. A favourite children's book from my childhood,. But things are only just waking up for the dawn of the Twitter age. As "a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets". These brief messages of up to 140 characters have been gaining followers and taking the world by storm since their conception back in 2006. Ellen De Generes has also jumped into the throng, currently at 771,000 viewers) followers is vaguely in...

Sarah Goetz's blog: My way
http://sarahvanaheim.blogspot.com/2009/08/my-way.html
Sunday, August 16, 2009. And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain. And I did it my way. Good old Sinatra getting the tone exactly right for how I feel right now, almost seems like an end of an era. This course has certainly been a trial by fire and it has brought me closer to many of my fellow students as we slogged through the last six weeks of our shared experience together, not something I considered when I initially signed up for this course. Adieu it has been an interesting process.

Walking with Web 2.0. Just another WordPress.com weblog. I’m lazy, well not really but RSS feeds allow me to be just a little lazy. Although I selected to use Google Reader for my personal feed aggregator there are a wealth of sources that teachers can access. Such as:. Formerly known as Google Personalized Home, iGoogle allows users to include RSS feeds as part of their custom start page. The Ultimate RSS Toolbox. Is a great source to refer to if teachers are looking for alternatives. Staying up to date...

It’s Time to Let Go of the Virtual Library | Walking with Web 2.0
https://kreierson.wordpress.com/2009/09/10/book-trailers
Walking with Web 2.0. Just another WordPress.com weblog. It’s Time to Let Go of the Virtual Library. Yesterday while attending a planning session for our districts virtual library, I asked a collegue how much time he spent on his virtual library. It is sad but I was reassured with his answer of two or three hours a week. My frustration with my school’s library site is that I want it to be more interactive. I don’t believe I am alone in my frustration. By kreierso on September 10, 2009. You are commenting...
