the oliver chronicles: July 2008
http://babyarkin.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 5, 2008. Oliver has been spending his last three Saturdays at the El Cerrito pool, enjoying the "parent and tot" class with his parents. It's great fun splashing around with mom and dad in something larger than the bath tub. But relaxing poolside does not always equate to letting one's hair down: the sunscreen on Oliver's head is the ultimate product, and the resulting mohawk is the envy of the diaper set. Pre-class and slicked up. He thinks he looks pretty funny, too. And on he grows.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009. We took a break from work and spent a long weekend in Guernville. Oliver liked looking up at the giant redwood trees in nearby Armstrong Woods. Raising Violet: Toddler Intellect
http://violetpauline.blogspot.com/2007/08/toddler-intellect.html
Monday, August 13, 2007. So, although I have told nearly everyone this story, I need to have it here, as well. Violet's little brain is working, and working quite well, apparently. She has this bucket of plastic eggs that she loves dumping all over the floor. Unfortunately, she does not equally enjoy picking them up. Knowing how much I care for her, she said "Papa, I have owie.". Oh, really, Violet? In other room.". Posted by Justin Horner at 4:12 PM. Another Baby: Eliza B Van de Water.

Raising Violet: June 2006
http://violetpauline.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 25, 2006. Back from San Diego. I spent the weekend with my good friend Jane in San Diego. Here is a reunion picture of Violet and me in the tub. I figured it was only fair to post this picture since I posted the one of Justin in the tub with Violet when she was 3 weeks old (see below). Note, however, that I waited until Violet was 9 months- considerably more coverage! Posted by Jade Queen at 8:57 PM. Thursday, June 22, 2006. Get Up, Stand Up! Posted by Jade Queen at 7:50 AM. Raising Violet: Violet Turns Two
http://violetpauline.blogspot.com/2007/10/violet-turns-two.html
Tuesday, October 23, 2007. Our little girl is growing up fast. On September 28th, she turned two and we decided this year to go ahead and have a party. Justin and I were busy wrangling kids, but luckily our friends Adam and Miho captured these moments for posterity! Here is Violet blowing out the candles- FINALLY. She had been practicing since she visited Granny and Grandpa in August. She did a great job! And of course, the prize after the effort. Here is Violet running wildly through the park: "I'm TWO!

Raising Violet: Holidays with Violet
http://violetpauline.blogspot.com/2007/12/holidays-with-violet.html
Saturday, December 29, 2007. We have had a very nice holiday break, and just arrived back from a short trip to Yosemite, where we stayed at the Yosemite View Lodge,. Two miles from the entrance to the park. I highly recommend this hotel, which has family suites that can easily accommodate four adults and two to three children. Another highlight was a trip to the Golden State Railroad Museum. A must-visit attraction for train fans or parents of train fans. Needless to say, Violet's mind was blown!
