Mike and Sarah: 5 Years
http://thepenteks.blogspot.com/2014/07/5-years.html
Here lies the adventures of a growing family busy discovering each other, life, and this crazy little thing called love. Today is our 5 year anniversary. 5 years married and 11 years together. Mike's parents came to visit at the beginning of the week and set us free one night to celebrate. We enjoyed a few beers together at El Bait Shop and then had dinner at Court Ave. where I enjoyed my first Blue Cheese Steak salad with a Black Hawk Stout in almost a year! Hayden & Hudson's Happenings: Hudson's New Glasses!
http://theprestegardpress.blogspot.com/2014/07/hudsons-new-glasses.html
Hayden and Hudsons Happenings. Thursday, July 31, 2014. Dr Areaux and the entire staff, even the facility, were wonderful and definitely catered to our little man. They had toys and a TV with favorite cartoon clips in every room, a fish tank which Hudson loved, the most friendly and patient staff, and the best part Hudson was completely comfortable and didn't cry once! This is amazing as we were there for over 4 hours and even did a full exam with eye dilation. We knew his old frames were too small howev...

Monday, October 13, 2014. By siblings and me with a really awkward pose that my sister insisted would be funny. Sure. My cousin Mindy and me. This was taken at approximately 11pm. Alaska never gets dark in the summer! Waterfall from our floatplane as we touched down in a fjord. So cool! I don't remember where this was but how pretty! Glacier. They're dirtier than you'd think. Moose and calf in Denali National Park. So that was our trip to Alaska. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Me and my honey.

The Jernstad Journal: July 2013
http://thejernstadjournal.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 31, 2013. In the Blink of an Eye. Everything changes in just a moment. In a blink of an eye. The Square. From left: Sandy, Cris, Me, Sherry. Phil and Sherry have been married for 13 years (ish). They had both been married before and each had 2 sons. Phil's were grown and out of the house; Sherry's were teenagers. Phil helped raise Sherry's sons and get them out the door.with love, of course! Everything changes in an instant. It was bad. There were tumors on his spine. Nothing is going to ...

The Jernstad Journal: March 2014
http://thejernstadjournal.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 30, 2014. I'm going to make someone mad. So, lately something's been bugging me. To be fair this has been bugging me for a while, but I have nothing if not restraint (HA! So here it is. Why to parents-to-be think that ultrasound exists only to show them the gender of their child? It's ridiculous. In the past week, I've had multiple facebook friends post how many days until they find out the gender of their baby. 3 more days! Yea, it's either a boy or a girl. Nailed it! It looks so easy!

The Jernstad Journal: February 2013
http://thejernstadjournal.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 12, 2013. All 4 of my blog followers have been bugging me to tell the story of my Jernstad family Christmas 2012. Well, buckle up. Here we go. So we were supposed to have Jernstad Christmas on Christmas Eve. Ya know, the night before Christmas when all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse? It had been decided months prior that we would all be converging upon Joel's oldest sister's house in Indianola, a little. Town just south of Des Moines. To have our get tog...

The Jernstad Journal: Fakey McFakerson
http://thejernstadjournal.blogspot.com/2013/10/fakey-mcfakerson.html
Tuesday, October 1, 2013. I like to think I'm a pretty down-to-earth person. I'm fairly realistic about my little corner of the world. I know what I need to do to make it through the day. I don't pretend to be better than I am. I'm pretty darn even-keeled. Which is why fake people drive me nuts. You get to know this person and wow, she's great. She makes you feel like a million bucks, you are happier just being around her. She is kind and compassionate to all she sees. Then BAM! Who is this person? I mea...

The Jernstad Journal: {Another} Epic Fail...
http://thejernstadjournal.blogspot.com/2014/03/another-epic-fail.html
Sunday, March 2, 2014. So, I've already acknowledged and accepted the fact that I'm not winning any parenting awards. I will never be mom of the year. I don't make homemade crafty things. I don't have a snack waiting for my kids when they get home from school. I've been known to make pancakes for supper. I don't think I'm a bad parent, just not Suzy Homemaker. A few weeks ago Noah was snack boy for his preschool. What is snack boy, you ask? Messy, it seemed like a great idea. The teacher just laughed.

Monday, March 11, 2013. Shiloh, the geriatric dog. We are dog sitting for Joel's sister Rebekah's dog, Shiloh. Now you may be thinking that dog sitting would be a few days, maybe a week? Nope, we got suckered into watching this dog for 3 months. Apparently that's more like fostering the dog. So I guess we're foster parents? Can I put that on my resume? When Rebekah first called us to ask if we'd consider watching her dog, this is what she said about Shiloh:. She peed.on her bed? Oh yes, she can't hold he...
