The surgeon came in our pre-op room and said, "you know, I was thinking about. We have to do special stretches in order to keep his hips this way.but throughout the next few years they will grow out of place again because of his stiffness from cerebral palsy.but at that time his body will be stronger and able to handle such a HUGE surgery. Saturday, June 9, 2012. It has been a really long time. We have been so busy with life this has been neglected.sorry! A few recently asked if I'd update the blog so they can hear about Ryder's progress and his life these days. So here we go. Heavenly Father has blessed us with such a special little spirit. Wow we better not fail this test! We too have had special experiences with our sweet little guy that I hold dear to my heart.and share with just a few. My goodness though! Greg also gets the same thing!

Wednesday, August 25, 2010. A few months ago while driving in the car, a 'Red Hot Chili Pepper" song came on the radio. The song was 'Snow" aka "hey o listen what I say yo."etc.well Ryder instantly started singing it.and ALWAYS sings it. Sunday, May 1, 2011. Ryder got bumped up on the surgery. May 23 he is having double hip surgery. He is excited that Dr Segal is fixing the pain in his legs. We are happy that he is getting the surgery to fix some issues.but also so nervous! This is the first real big surgery for him.and we always hate when he has to be put under. We're trying to focus on the positive though! We will try to keep the blog updated as much as possible! You should see his face when he gets mail with his name on it!

Saturday, November 13, 2010. Today was Ryder's NyICU reunion for ST Joe's. It was so cool to see some of Ryders medical staff.Esp Claire! She was his nurse pretty much from the beginning to end. The CUTEST moment was seeing Jesus and Ryder hugging. Jesus is the lil guy photo'd with Ryder below. They were lil 2 lbs buddies in the NyICU. I guess there was another little baby in there that was just 13 ounces! Yes JUST 13 ounces! Her nick name was polly pocket, and was the length of a dollar bill!

Tuesday, March 23, 2010. He talked about what a blessing all around a special needs child is, and how grateful he is to have one and wouldnt change it for anything! I couldn't help but smile, and completely agree to all of that. He told me how happy he was that I was having another kid so close to ryder help him.and be his friend.he to has a daughter close in age to his special needs son.cool! He told me how great it is for his son to have the daughter there, because she helps him in ways no one else can.

Tuesday, May 25, 2010. This is what I want to do to Ruby's room. can't wait! My prego belly.and growing : ). I made it to 26 weeks! I had Ryder on this day (26 weeks). When I woke up this morning, I smiled : ) thought to myself. "yay! I made it.now to 30 weeks! Today and the past 2 weeks I have been doing great. I have had a few ups and downs, but expected for a high risk pregnancy. Dr Blumrick said if it stays as it has the last 2 weeks, there is a chance to make it to 36 weeks. I was stoked! Bad news t...

Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Today is one of those days, I sit back and am so grateful to have a special son with cerebral palsy. Ryder is such a sweet loving kid. He teaches Greg and I so much. I am filled with much emotion today because of his struggles. We get so caught up in our busy life with Ryder we tend to forget he's a "different" kid. Now that Ryder talks (alot! He is now realizing his differences from his cousins or buddies. He asks to run, walk.today he really wanted to sit by himself.
