OK. Maybe not – but fudge was not something that was often found in our household. (May I remind you that our household was mostly homemade treats, and yours truly was unaware of the existence of Oreos when embarking upon that adventure we call kindergarten? Now when I think of fudge, I think of Granville Island.

I oredered flooring for the bedrooms and bathrooms this morning - and a bathroom vanity! The master bedroom now has a ceiling. We got this awesome tongue and groove paneling - NC pine. It's absolutely gorgeous in real life. The downstairs corner where our kitchen will be. Staircase will be against the left wall. By hand at home.

Even the ones we ended up eating. A few days ago, we came home to a gruesome sight - most of the 'pet' flock lay dead in our yard. 7 of the ten were gone. We *think* it was foxes. It took my mother coming out from Vancouver for us to finally get into the holiday spirit. But into the holiday spirit we got. We sang Christmas carols. Loudly. We put up a tree. A Christmas tree. And we even broke with tradition and put up a not-so-Charlie-Brown tree. We went out and it was dark when we came back. It was nice to be greeted by it at the end of the driveway.
