Wayne Pan is Backpacking in a Suit: Capsule Spot: Hong Kong

http://backpackinginasuit.blogspot.com/2010/09/capsule-spot-hong-kong.html

Monday, September 13, 2010. Capsule Spot: Hong Kong. Things to See and Do. This is the only must-do activity in Hong Kong, and truthfully, much of what you will do in Hong Kong is a variation there-of. From finding restaurants with great views, to getting a stellar hotel room, to visiting the Peak. All of it is to see what is likely the most amazing skyline in the world. Better yet, the best view has been and still is free – directly across the Harbor in Tsim Tsa Tsui near the Star Ferry. On the far east...

http://backpackinginasuit.blogspot.com/2011/01/my-ride-on-high-speed-rail.html

Saturday, January 15, 2011. My Ride on the High-Speed Rail. Another cross posting here guys and gals! Since I'm waxing poetic on the beauty of high speed rail, I thought it would be a more fitting post for "greenpropaganda" but I wanted to make sure to share this cool travel experience with all the Backpacking in a Suit folks also. You can find the full post here:. The World's Fastest Train Service. Technical specifications aside, what is the actual trip like? Well, fast of course. Posted by Wayne Pan.

Wayne Pan is Backpacking in a Suit: Visions of Lesotho

http://backpackinginasuit.blogspot.com/2011/07/visions-of-lesotho.html

Thursday, July 14, 2011. There are still new posts and catch-up photos going up on this website? You got it. AND. hopefully. I will get around to putting up a slide-show or two with all of the past photos for easier access! In the meantime, let's take a stroll down memory lane to Lesotho, one of the most interesting little countries I've ever been to, bordered on ALL FOUR SIDES by South Africa. :). View from Thabu Bosiu of a village in the valley below. Farming valley near Thabu Bosiu. Sunset on the road.

Travel with Alice: Taiwan: "Small Eats"

http://travelwithcjalice.blogspot.com/2010/10/taiwan-small-eats.html

Monday, October 11, 2010. Everyone's favorite xiao chi turns them into a child again. Everyone has their favorite(s), the one (or two) thing(s) they just can't get enough of. I'll cover our favorite xiao chi here, and then cover the remaining categories of food, like breakfast and night markets, in my next entry. I'll start with Mark's dad, because he was maybe the most enthusiastic out of all of us. He very deliberately sought out bahwan (meat filled glutinous rice ball) and eel noodles. Onto eel. I...

Travel with Alice: New York Redux: Part 2

http://travelwithcjalice.blogspot.com/2011/09/new-york-redux-part-2.html

Tuesday, September 13, 2011. New York Redux: Part 2. So, we're still talking late March 2011 and NYC. I know, I'm SO behind! We started Day 2 with brunch hopping. We met up with my cousin, Nathan, and his girlfriend, Sandy, at The Little Owl. They were operating on NY weekend time (late! No worries, I'll definitely be back! Next, we hit Blue Ribbon Bakery. And enjoyed the following dishes:. Poached egg on top of chorizo hash. Ham and brie baguette sandwich. On our way to Yakitori Totto. We saw a SoupMan.

Travel with Alice: New York Redux: Part 1

http://travelwithcjalice.blogspot.com/2011/06/new-york-redux-part-1.html

Thursday, June 23, 2011. New York Redux: Part 1. In 2009, I had an epic NYC foodie vacation. Planned, and I ended up leaving half of the itinerary. On the page. In late March 2011, I returned to NYC to take care of some unfinished business. We caught an early morning non-stop Virgin America flight, arriving late afternoon local time. We had just discovered the iPhone game Tiny Wings. Turkey sandwich (comes with mini-Toblerone chocolate! Mark was focused on food, even though our Jean-Georges reservations ...

Travel with Alice: June 2010

http://travelwithcjalice.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 17, 2010. Alaska: Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan. One reason cruising is a great way to see Southeast Alaska is because all the major cities of interest are accessible via cruise ship. Our first stop was Skagway, an adorable, charming town North of Juneau. It was a short, scenic walk from the boat to downtown Skagway. Again, the weather was perfection. Conner was very curious, but tentative. Mark loved them, and the feeling was mutual. By the time we finally got up to the lake, I was done&#...

Travel with Alice: What happened to New York?

http://travelwithcjalice.blogspot.com/2009/11/what-happened-to-new-york.html

Thursday, November 12, 2009. What happened to New York? So what became of the thoughtfully planned trip to New York for our third wedding anniversary, which seemed to have been going so well? The answer came quick and simple like everything else about the place, "cheese and bacon." It seemed like the specialty of the place, and who doesn't love bacon, so I went for it. With my expectations low, and my tummy empty, I found the Bistro Burger to be delicious. And pork buns and crack pie at Momofuku Milk Bar...

Travel with Alice: October 2009

http://travelwithcjalice.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 18, 2009. The sign, the low lighting, the friendly, soft-spoken Japanese waitstaff, and the menu - was I back at Cha Cha Hana in Tokyo? No, I was in New York, at EN Japanese Brasserie, thanks to a spot on recommendation from our friend Hana, but boy did it bring back wonderful memories of modern izakaya at its best in Tokyo. This untraditional chawanmushi was (again) perfectly light. Having just come in from the cold, I would have preferred a steaming hot chawanmushi, but completely u...

http://travelwithcjalice.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 15, 2009. For a little more depth and feel for various aspects or places in Italy (particularly Venice), I recommend the following books:. The City of Falling Angels. By John Berendt (of. Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Eating Up Italy: Voyages on a Vespa. By Matthew Fort,. The Companion Guide to Venice. By Hugh Honour,. Eat, Pray, Love. By Elizabeth Gilbert (at least the first part about eating in Rome), and the indulgent historic-fictional romance,. By Andrea di Robilant.

Travel with Alice: January 2011

http://travelwithcjalice.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Taiwan: More xiao chi. I've saved the best for last: breakfast, night markets, and the best of the rest (miscellaneous places we stumbled across). Hands down my favorite meal in Taiwan is breakfast. There are so many options for a quick, hot, (mostly) savory breakfast, which I find I'm always at a loss for in the U.S. (the land of donut, cereal, and muffin-breakfasts). Our flight arrived around 5am local time, so our first meal was breakfast. Mark's cousin brought us sesame xao.

Drei Maedels touren durch Suedostasien

Drei Maedels touren durch Suedostasien. Freitag, 14. Januar 2011. South-east-Asia: always remember and never forget.
