Our Bird Sanctuary

Viewing 0 - 10. This morning, I went on my usual daily walk. As soon as I got to the entrance to/exit out of my neighborhood, I saw three of the most amazing Arizona birds! The other bird, the Pyrrhuloxia, is often called the Desert Cardinal and is also common out here. Although both types of Cardinals are seen out here in Arizona, this is the stomping ground of the Deser Cardinal. Current Location: United States, Arizona, Tucson. Full size version under the cut. Taken at my daughters house in Redding, CA.

Male Northern Cardinal - Our Bird Sanctuary. 2015-05-20 01:48 pm (UTC). Another favorite bird of mine. They're so pretty against the snow too. We had a record breaking number (for us anyway) of them this winter; at one time, I counted fifteen of them in our magnolia tree. 2015-05-20 02:13 pm (UTC). We never get more than 2 or 3 at a time. And while they do look beautiful in the snow, I draw the line at going out to try to get a photo. (I'm not a fan of going out in the snow.).
