IFB’s React To Jack Schaap’s Firing | Baptist Thinker's Blog
https://baptistthinker.wordpress.com/2012/08/04/ifbs-react-to-jack-schaaps-firing
Baptist Thinker's Blog. Thoughts of a Reformed, Southern Baptist. August 4, 2012. IFB’s React To Jack Schaap’s Firing. With Jack Schaap being fired, the internet has been abuzz. Both current and former IFB’s are discussing the matter, and the responses are fairly predictable. Here’s what I’ve been seeing around the web currently. From the Online Baptist. Affairs between 16 old girls and 50 something year old married men never work out right. Especially men who pastor mega-churches.”. A Hero Has Fallen.
Why I Still Feel The Pull of Fundamentalism | Baptist Thinker's Blog
https://baptistthinker.wordpress.com/2012/08/17/why-i-still-feel-the-pull-of-fundamentalism
Baptist Thinker's Blog. Thoughts of a Reformed, Southern Baptist. August 17, 2012. Why I Still Feel The Pull of Fundamentalism. 1 Fundamentalists believe in some kind of separation from the world. In some cases, they take it too far. But this is not necessarily a bad thing(except where they take it too far). We are to be in the world, but not of it. I think that too often, many evangelicals are more “of the world” than simply “in the world”. Would normally be considered incompatible with LifeWay’s mission.

Songs from a Strange Land
Songs from a Strange Land. Musings, meanderings and generally unformed ideas which may be of peculiar interest in the general area of Christian Theology and Ministry. Saturday, 12 September 2009. I'm sure there's a theological issue in there. Tuesday, 18 November 2008. Welcome to the first posting. I am hoping to establish some opportunity for discussion about issues that arise from my own double life as local church minister and university teacher. Whatever the answers, it's good to be blessed anyway!

Baptist Theology in American Culture
Baptist Theology in American Culture. My thoughts stemming from various theological readings and conversations. Our Nation's Flag at Half Mast. Our nation's flag is at half mast today — an action meant to recognize the useless violence upon the victims and families of the Las Vegas shooting. These were innocents. Moms, Dads, Sons, Daughters, Brothers and Sisters murdered for - whatever the reason, it is no good reason. This is why refusal to stand at our national anthem is such a wicked thing. This i...

Baptist Thinking
Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Here, edited, is a Christian Devotional reading expressing where God is in relation to the tragedy of the individuals left behind, mourning, and hurting. It appears in the devotional book, A Year in the Life: Ministry and Memories. He Will Carry You. In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. When people ask “Why? Since about 1950 in th...
