Blackberry Hill: August 2006

Thursday, August 31, 2006. Fang - Rescuing the World's Ugliest Cat. I don't have a picture or a gender of "Fang" yet but this cat is our latest rescue. I tell you what, this cat needed a rescue. It's dirty, stinky, and ugly. U. And sweet, but did I mention ugly? I think it is supposed to be a Persian but I call it a perversion. Adding injury to insult, the unfortunate creature also possessed a horrific upper respiratory infection. Me: "Awwww, Honey! Resignedly replacing his foot on the brake.). We tempor...

Blackberry Hill: September 2006

Wednesday, September 27, 2006. Henna Found a Home, Sorta. And Fang Loses Out. Henna, our most exotic rescue to date has found temporary - possibly permanent - placement. My husband took her to the local shelter today where they recognized her immediately as one of a missing pair of Bengals whose prior owner had passed away. Have they no pity? The vet office clipped his nails way back so although we have a bruise or two to show for our "this is hurting us more than it's hurting you" medication regimen, th...

Blackberry Hill: December 2006
http://blackberry-hill.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 25, 2006. Not a creature was stirring, at least until the girls got home Christmas Eve. Then all creatures were stirring, purring, panting, licking, wiggling, wagging, and giggling as carefully wrapped packages revealed surprise after surprise. Digital cameras for the girls, a 10"x12" greenhouse for my husband and a red nano for me. Not to mention a warm fire, laughing and loving children, a proud husband, and pampered pets. Blackberry Hill: December 2008

Monday, December 22, 2008. And that a 5 gallon can of diesel must way 40 to 50 lbs? And that it was snowing? Anyway, I got the diesel back to the house, filled up the tractor, and worked for what was left of the day on the driveway. The next morning Sheila continued the work. Yes, that is the snow up to the top of the tractors back wheels. We also started to dig out the front path, switching with the tractor person when they got tired of shoveling. Eventually the path was done. Sunday, December 21, 2008.

Wednesday, October 18, 2006. Home and Garden Show. We went to the Home and Garden Show last weekend and all we got were these Flowering Maples. They are pretty - pretty high maintenance. They were sold as perennials but they turned out to be not so perennial. More like delicate little flowers that constantly scream for attention. Posted by Aeirie @ 9:14 PM. Up to Our Elbows. Blackberry Hill: July 2007

Monday, July 30, 2007. And now for the post from the favorite daughter :D. Warning, this post consists of mostly rambling, observations, and wastes 15 minutes of your life you will never be able to get back :P). We gardened (Of course). Although everyone loves to garden, I for some reason don't share that same love. My logic: It's hard, and I don't find it that enjoyable. Did I mention it's hard? Anywho, enough about chores. And to think, summer's almost over.it went by so fast.:(. Sunset at the Beach.

Blackberry Hill: April 2007

Wednesday, April 18, 2007. Downed Trees and Good Guys. My husband cranked up the toy chainsaw we had at the house and all of us traipsed down to the trees and worked over the course of several hours in bright sunshine, freezing rain, and fluffy snowflakes to remove the first tree. Then the chainsaw broke. Can you blame it? It was like using a spoon to drain a pond. Not a bad ending for a cold, wet day. Posted by Aeirie @ 2:46 PM. Sunrise over Blackberry Hill.
