Monday, April 11, 2005. May 8, 1855 to May 8, 1955. By Otto Baudler 1955. Born April 5, 1834. Died December 22, 1912. Born September 2, 1854. Died December 8, 1925. In coming to this place of settlement from Dubuque, Iowa, they passed through what was called Six Mile Grove in what is now Nevada Township and there they found a few Norwegian pioneers, by whom they were informed that a very few settlers had settled along the Red Cedar River, near where Austin is now situated.
