So is the whole idea of using Elmer’s Glue and flattened toothpicks to provide a handle to work with dried PMC pieces before firing in the kiln. There are so many ideas and images going through my head that I don’t know where to start. At Haystack it is ALL FRIENDS and ALL CREATIVITY all the time! The metals studio awaits:. I'm my mum's carer. I'm a jewellery designer and creator. I'm a lampwork bead artist. I'm a graphic designer. A daughter, a sister, a friend. This blog is about me and what I do. Wednesday, July 19, 2006. The very first run of my kiln was a success! All beads survived and the kiln did exactly what it was supposed to do! Here's a pic of the beads that were annealed. There was just enough there for a full load as well, which surprised me. So here's hoping for some clear/fine weather! Saturday, July 15, 2006.

Studio – THE ALCHEMISTRESS

I put UV and heat reflective film on the windows and set up a metalworking station. The UV tint has really helped to keep the studio at more moderate temperatures (although I put in a portable air conditioner this year as well). Updating the studio was a great opportunity to shift things around after four years in the same configuration, it felt like a whole new space. The Alchemistress, Studio – September 2016. For the past ten years I worked with a Nortel Minor Burner. Overkill, for sure! Over the year...
