The Allotment – First 3 Weeks | beentheredugthat

https://beentheredugthat.wordpress.com/2015/02/14/the-allotment-first-3-weeks

The Allotment – First 3 Weeks. February 14, 2015. I was lucky to acquire allotment 5A after lusting after the idea for a month or two – that was three weeks ago! Since then every weekend, no matter the weather, has been on plot 5A. It was clear on our first visit that the ground was looking in a bit of a sorry state, without doubt, but the whole family were happy to roll up their sleeves and help! The shed is stereotypically a ‘man’s sanctuary’! This slideshow requires JavaScript. New Fencing and Seeds.

https://beentheredugthat.wordpress.com/2015/02/14/shwmae-pawb-hello-world

Shwmae Pawb / Hello World! February 14, 2015. It’s Valentine’s day and I’m writing my very first blog about one of my loves…gardening! I’ve chosen to show the world the extent of my addiction – March’s gardening magazines! It’s the end of THE most manic week in work and I desperately need my garden fix. However, the weather today is pretty dank and I’m sporting an arm injury so I’ll have to settle for a dig through the mags. The Allotment – First 3 Weeks. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. A Touch of Chelsea. August 1, 2015. It’s been all grow, grow, grow! Time to ‘stop and stare’ has had to be put on hold for a number of weeks but finally I have 5 minutes to update my blog! Running around the plots…busy, busy, busy! The allotment site is currently a hive of activity and ‘we are full’…yep…every single plot is taken! I am now one of four women that have a plot. Two are admittedly husband and wife teams…Only two of us work our own plots. I’m the only woman with two plots! I also understand t...

Be out tidying the allotment, these afternoon, as you all know having a family and full time work, there is a hard balance keeping the allotment upto perfection. My pumpkin efforts, you really need a lot more time and be able to water them even night. Not a bad cucumber, shame there is only one. Few Hours Out Today. Had a couple of helpers today.

Allotment stories (How I Started Out). My Third Weeks Handy Work. From Start To Produce. My Allotment is starting to get some nice food, we have had lettuces and spring onions for salads which tasted great, with some nice new potatoes. My broad beans are starting to look good and the broccoli is well on its way. I have covered over some of the areas before I am able to plant, hopefully to keep away the weeds. By the end of August I hope to have it all finished. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. On instagram&#4...

Series Land Rovers Bonnie, Ciggy and Annie. The Land Rover Owners Wife. This slideshow requires JavaScript. I have never been a keen gardener and so when Mud decided that, due to time constraints, it was time I took over the growing of the vegetables, my heart sank and I had visions of failed crops left, right and centre. Nowadays I not only look after our own vegetable garden but I also oversee the Gardening Club and Vegetable Plot at the school our 2 youngest girls attend. Who would have thought? Hello...

Butternut Squash planting – The Green Man

https://mickgall.wordpress.com/2016/05/19/butternut-squash-planting

Wildlife, Gardening, Woods and Folklore. May 19, 2016. Now the better-half likes to make butternut squash soup, so one of the crops that had to definitely most positively be grown on the allotment is butternut squash. So I’ve decided on the ‘No Dig’ technique and to make planting holes enriched with lots of compost, ( no dig technique is actually council parks department code for ‘I can’t be a* *d to dig it’). Then a mound was made in the centre of the hole and the squash plants were planted. Notify me o...

To pin or not to pin… – Fudge & Poppy

https://fudgeandpoppy.wordpress.com/2014/08/04/to-pin-or-not-to-pin

The blog of a girl who makes it up as she goes along. To pin or not to pin…. August 4, 2014. August 5, 2014. I, like many fellow crafters, have a Pinterest. Account and curate a few boards. I am not an avid pinner like some people. I’ve seen some boards with hundreds of pins, some pinners who have hundreds of boards with hundreds of pins… how do they find the time? I have about three public boards and one private board. The main one is the one I use to showcase items from my Etsy shop. But recently an ol...
