Monday, July 22, 2013. Summer is the time when I usually load up on novels and spend as much time outside, reading, as possible. This summer seems to be unusually busy, but I've been been able to squeeze in time for a couple of great books so far. In both, the main characters are artists, but that's where the similarity ends. The first book, The Art Forger. I'm not going to spoil the story for you, but I will tell you that this is a really, really good book! The next book has been sitting on my shelf for...

The Right to Free Speech and Knowing When to Shut It. May 16, 2013. This is NOT a political commentary. Recently, I went for my annual eye exam. Since our insurance changed late last year, this meant going to a differrent eye doctor. After the usual pleasantries, I sat down in the dentist-y looking chair and the eye doctor began asking questions. “So what do you do? I replied, somewhat confidently, “I am an artist.”. Eye doctor: ”Oh, so what do you paint, landscapes? You’re a bad person! 8221; Nope, I ke...

Luckily, I was able to give my hand a much needed rest. Also, having the A/C blowing again, at full blast, was like stepping through the pearly gates! Little did I know that was t...

Monday, June 1, 2009. I've been preparing for the Messy Play class at SENZ, one of the things we'll be doing is Grungeboard, so I had to try ALL the different ways to use it! Above is inked and then "sewn" with wire and bead added. This one is painted, and glitter added to the stars. This is one of my favourites - painting then sanding back. I acutally used this flower on a scrapbook page. Beth Barnes - Inky Fingers. Monday, April 27, 2009. I've also had time to work on a couple of things for myself, and...
