Plum Quilts: April 2015
http://plumquilts.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
My quilting story as it unfolds. Wednesday, 29 April 2015. There is something very satisfying about seried ranks of prepared pieces! These were the scallops as I was counting them into sets (groups of 30 scallops - 12 for the shorter borders, 18 for the longer ones). I've used my cool colour scraps - and it's lovely to see part of an old dress, fabric I used on the girls pushchair, a little from the very first set of FQs that I bought.all sorts of delights from my quilting life! Wednesday, April 29, 2015.

Plum Quilts: June 2015
http://plumquilts.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
My quilting story as it unfolds. Tuesday, 30 June 2015. Quilting, quilting, quilting! I've spent most of my sewing time this week quilting this wall hanging - my Round Robin from my quilting group. No 'proper' photos of the whole thing, as it's about 72" wide, so hard for me to get a full shot without involving two people to hold it for me! What you can see here is one of the diamonds that is filled with quilting. Each diamond is 15" square and each one took about 2 hours to quilt. Tuesday, June 30, 2015.

Plum Quilts: Kindle Cover Tutorial
http://plumquilts.blogspot.com/2011/05/kindle-cover-tutorial.html
My quilting story as it unfolds. Tuesday, 17 May 2011. Just a quick run through how I made my Kindle cover. I actually woke in the middle of the night and had a complete forehead slapping moment, as I realised that if using a directional print, the easiest way to make the cover (case? Would be to have the opening flap on the long side, rather than at the top. Doh! I may make a Mark II case to demonstrate this. but at the moment you will have to manage with this top opening cover instead. 3) Sew around ea...

Plum Quilts: Hurrah! Getting on with Projects!
http://plumquilts.blogspot.com/2015/06/hurrah-getting-on-with-projects.html
My quilting story as it unfolds. Wednesday, 10 June 2015. Getting on with Projects! This is my current sewing space - a corner of our bedroom which also houses 'the study' - laptop, printer etc. Its not as big as the space that I usually have, but I realise that I am lucky to be able to dedicate any space at all to it! I've only sewn through a pile of paper once (so far! Whilst quilting. Not to self to remove ALL loose items from the surfaces first! I carried on using the same King Tut variegated quiltin...

Plum Quilts: August 2015
http://plumquilts.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
My quilting story as it unfolds. Wednesday, 19 August 2015. I'm spending time 'rebuilding' my sewing room / study / spare room - so here's the tour of how its looking at the moment. Starting off behind the door - this bookshelf is a work in progress - lots of juggling things about as items return to the room and I choose their new locations. To the right you can just see my 'design wall' (a fleece on a pole) . One day there will be a sofa bed on the back wall, with a quilt hanging above it. This represen...

Plum Quilts: Bits and Bobs
http://plumquilts.blogspot.com/2015/07/bits-and-bobs.html
My quilting story as it unfolds. Tuesday, 28 July 2015. I've had a good run of quilting over the last few weeks - concentrating on my UFO's has been a good way to make progress for me - until this week when life (and holidays! Got in the way of sewing time! I bought a book that she'd co-authored too: 50 Fat Quarter Makes. Lots of small projects that look perfect for my DD's and I want to sew over the holidays! Not big, not clever, but a zipped and lined pouch is quite a good little sewing project to have...

Plum Quilts: Basted and Quilted
http://plumquilts.blogspot.com/2015/08/basted-and-quilted.html
My quilting story as it unfolds. Friday, 7 August 2015. I finally found enough clear and clean floor where I could (spray) baste the two parts of my Dear Jane. It was then folded up, bundled into a bag and stuffed into a crate with my other sewing supplies so that it could come on holiday with me! I've been wondering for years quite how I was going to quilt this project. I'm not sure that the sashing will be quite as straight and true as it was before I started quilting it! Of course, I stopped for frequ...

Plum Quilts: Sweet scrappy projects
http://plumquilts.blogspot.com/2015/06/sweet-scrappy-projects.html
My quilting story as it unfolds. Tuesday, 16 June 2015. I finished sewing down the binding on the big sister of the 16 patch quilt that I showed last week. This is 40" square, so not a bad size. I made it to use up some bright jelly-roll type strips and a metallic-y spray pattern background fabric. Another finish for my Project Linus pile and a little more out of the scrap drawers! Almost completed in March.but I'm happy to have finished it now! Underarm cushions with a strap to hold them in place. I...

Plum Quilts: Measure Twice......
http://plumquilts.blogspot.com/2015/07/measure-twice.html
My quilting story as it unfolds. Saturday, 18 July 2015. Thank you everyone who weighed in with an opinion on my Dear Jane dilemma. I decided that it would be nice to have a quilt on display that fitted the space, so after some deliberation, and knowing the width of the space, decided that I would change the layout. I knew that if I had the blocks just 10 columns across that they would fit in the width of wall that I had available. Great! Unfortunately, in my head I knew that the new wall under the windo...
