The Simple Diary of a Simplifying Mama: March 2011
http://simplifyingmama.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
The Simple Diary of a Simplifying Mama. Tuesday, March 22, 2011. We'd had a few wet, rainy days and too much indoors time. So some food colouring diluted in water, eyedroppers, and paper towels = FUN! We experimented with mixing colours (yellow blue = GREEN) and discovered that mixing all three colours leaves us with 3 shades of brown. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. The Simple Diary of a Simplifying Mama: Baking in the New Year
http://simplifyingmama.blogspot.com/2011/01/baking-in-new-year.html
The Simple Diary of a Simplifying Mama. Saturday, January 1, 2011. Baking in the New Year. What better way to start 2011 than afternoon tea in the backyard? A melt'n'mix butter cake with butter cream frosting (both recipes courtesty of Donna Hay) and a flat white made with the coffee machine that Santa brought me. Yum - I think I need to come visit! We also started the new year with lots of god foor. Had Stephens Uni crowd over yesterday and ate things like cheesecake slice and lasagne. mmmmmm.

The Simple Diary of a Simplifying Mama: Rice and lentil box
http://simplifyingmama.blogspot.com/2009/03/rice-and-lentil-box.html
The Simple Diary of a Simplifying Mama. Sunday, March 22, 2009. Rice and lentil box. I made this toy for Jambin this afternoon. He loved it! And it only cost about $2 for the box - everything else I already had in my pantry. I used brown rice and red lentils because they were what I found in the pantry, but I also liked the colour contrast. Of course, the rice and lentils didn't always remain in the box, but Jambin had fun helping me pick up all the little bits that "fell" out. March 23, 2009 at 5:47 PM.

The Simple Diary of a Simplifying Mama: Christmas Sensory Tub
http://simplifyingmama.blogspot.com/2011/01/christmas-sensory-tub.html
The Simple Diary of a Simplifying Mama. Saturday, January 1, 2011. Slightly more sophisticated than my lentil and rice box. I present the Christmas sensory tub! Equally as messy, seasonal, and adored by both my little elves. I must admit that even though the lentil and rice box idea was mine, I borrowed the idea of sensory tubs. On her Counting Coconuts. In the tub, I placed:. Jasmine rice, dyed green with food colouring. Plastic containers for scooping. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Simple Diary of a Simplifying Mama: January 2010
http://simplifyingmama.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
The Simple Diary of a Simplifying Mama. Wednesday, January 6, 2010. Jambin and I cooked some green slime today. I used the Easy Slime Recipe #1 from this site. But the cornflour stayed very lumpy in the mixture, so I think if I used the same recipe again, I would mix the cornflour to a runny paste with a small amount of water before adding it to the saucepan containing the boiling water. So we decided that we would just play with lumpy bumpy slime:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
