My journey through middle life running along with life itself! Thursday, June 05, 2008. Coach is killing me. Last night she had me do the dreaded doctervals. Doctervals are 8 x 200 with the goal to go all out but consistent pace. I need them in order to achieve my goal of a sub 5:15 mile this august. Splits were 34, 35,37, 36,35, 38, 38, 38. Tuesday, May 6, 2008. I've been really busy lately! Lots of traveling for work had me in San Francisco and Denver recently. When I'm in the office, I've been pre-occupied with coordinating a training and getting ready to renew some grants that I hardly have a life. I ran Eugene. Not the full. I did the 1/2. I had the best time in Oregon as the hubby and I made a 5-day journey out of the whole thing. Hope to have a race report up within the week. Hey, hopefully I will finally meet you at the summer 5ks!

When I was ten, my dad built a boat and our family sailed around the world in it. My mother had me keep a diary as part of my "boat-schooling." This is a section of that diary, written when I was 11. My parents, both authors, typed it up and sent it to their agent and- voila! I had a published book when I was 14!
