I have several shots of Pointer, because him and Blackney come and cruise by the boat curiously when I am up in their home range in the summer. Sunday, September 14, 2014. New Calf in Lpod! Today we had some very exciting news when it was confirmed by Dave Ellifritt, Center for Whale Research, that there was a new Calf in Lpod. CWR confirmed that L86 was seen with a new baby, designated as L120. This is the first new calf born in the Southern Resident Killer Whales since 2012 and it is incredible news:). Today we had a wonderful encounter with Jpod and the Babies near Middle Bank. All the pod was together including all 3 Babies, J50, J51 and J52, and all looked happy and healthy!
