The Authentic Seattleite: Brand Bowl 2010!
http://laurent4508.blogspot.com/2010/02/brand-bowl-2010.html
Sunday, February 7, 2010. Another Super Bowl has come and gone, which of course beings the onslaught of discussions, reviews and analyses of the game and the commercials. I decided to give my two cents via blog. As usual, Budweiser's millions of dollars were successful by producing humorous, memorable ads, but I was most impressed with Google's, which was incredibly clever at what seems like a brilliantly low production cost. The Authentic Seattleite: September 2010
http://laurent4508.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 27, 2010. New York, Take Four. But of course being in New York on the weekend when the offices aren’t open, I had to have some fun first. Arriving on a game day for the Washington Huskies meant we had to find a good place to watch the football game. We found ourselves at the Rattle ‘N Hum. On 33rd street. This bar happens to be designated by the University of Washington’s New York Alumni Association. On Sunday, it just so happened to be the Brazilian festival. Which is supposed to be th...

Sunday, April 25, 2010. 45 days and counting down- CELEBRATE. So I know I've been giving Coca Cola a lot of marketing props lately, but I really can't help it. Especially with their partnership with the Olympics this year, and now the World Cup. In fact, it's less than two months until the most watched tournament in the world starts up. You can't help but love the vibe, and maybe even laugh to yourself at some of the submissions. The widget below is just a sample- check it out! Wednesday, April 14, 2010.

The Authentic Seattleite: January 2011
http://laurent4508.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 23, 2011. One of the things I was looking forward to the most about studying abroad in Italy was being able to finally attend a European soccer match. Being in Europe a few times before, I had always came during the off-season when no games were being played. Finally, I was able to attend a match. The crowd consisted of almost ALL men. In fact, tickets are more inexpensive for a woman to go, than a male. Our tickets were 17 euros, whereas the girls' were only ten. And I could ...During th...

The Authentic Seattleite: Madison Avenue Today
http://laurent4508.blogspot.com/2011/01/madison-avenue-today.html
Sunday, January 9, 2011. For Fall quarter, I was fortunate to do some independent research as one of my classes. With professor sponsorship/advising, I studied how the internet is shaping today's advertising industry. My final product was a twenty page paper which I posted on a Wordpress site to make it more engaging and in line with the topic. Please take a look and post some feedback if you want. Thanks! The Authentic Seattleite: The Gaga Phenomenon
http://laurent4508.blogspot.com/2011/05/gaga-phenomenon.html
Monday, May 30, 2011. Upon starting this blog, I never would have imagined that I would be writing a post about Lady Gaga. But last week, something struck me as needing some investigation: Lady Gaga was rated as the most influential person of 2010 in the Time 100 poll. Though I had heard a lot of her music on the radio, I had never really listened to her lyrics or analyzed her music videos' content. I first went to her YouTube channel. It features videos submitted from Lady Gaga's fans showing their admi...

The Authentic Seattleite: Hello, Mr. President
http://laurent4508.blogspot.com/2010/10/hello-mr-president.html
Monday, October 25, 2010. Hello, Mr. President. To this day, it astounds me how much power a school like the University of Washington has. Next Tuesday, November 2nd, are the primary elections. President Barack Obama made it a point to come to our UW campus to rally votes for the incumbent democrat senator, Patty Murray. Now I'm not here to talk politics. And to even attend the really, you could be conservative, liberal, green, whatever. The leader of our great nation was at my. View my complete profile.

Monday, April 11, 2011. Vive Le Football Libre. Nike is now the current sponsor for the French National Soccer team after earning the franchise for almost $400 million dollars, according to The New York Times. While I was in Europe, all the Niketown stores, present in every major city, had displays showing off the new kits for the team, along with other gear and collectables. Additionally, they're making a large marketing push across social media. Print, and TV. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
