Then, upon a tasteless bite, you were mentally transported to a crowded smorgasbord (buffet) of the 1980's instead of going on that mental vacation to a beach in Hawaii. Hopefully you won't experience such disappointment again. Today is Christmas Eve. Mele Kalikimaka! Go back and do any necessary touchup work.

Recipes, Real Estate, and other Ramblings: Summertime Dinner
http://curlypasta.blogspot.com/2011/08/summertime-dinner.html
Sunday, August 7, 2011. To me, dinner is the meal that is served around 6 PM. I don't use the word supper. It has always confused me. Breakfast is the first meal of the day, lunch is the second meal of the day (unless you are a Hobbit), and dinner is the third and final meal of the day. Living in the South can be so confusing sometimes. Why does summer seem to go by so quickly? Why can't we grow corn, tomatoes, raspberries, and okra in Zone 7 year-round? That would be dreamy. But hold the mosquitoes.

Recipes, Real Estate, and other Ramblings: A Quick Trip to Cali

Friday, February 4, 2011. A Quick Trip to Cali. 1994 and I hurt. I am not going to smile. I am not going to smile, I am not going to smile. Fast forward to 2011. With teeth somewhat straightened out and no headaches, I set off for California once again. This time I visited a dear friend from college. My friend, my 2 children and I began our adventures in San Francisco. The first stop: to get focaccia bread. My 4 year-old says fah KAHtch yuh with a slight Southern twang. This is the precious cargo. Next, ...

Friday, September 24, 2010. French Toast and funny faces. Another item that we made this week was French Toast. But do the French call it by that name? No, they call it Pain Perdu. That means Lost Bread. I've only stayed in a few bed and breakfasts, but on one trip, we had a wonderful version of French Toast with cream cheese and marmalade. The marmalade provides enough sweetness that I don't use syrup. Try it some time, you might be surprised. Recipe for Pain Perdu. Little less than 1/4 c of 2 % milk.

Recipes, Real Estate, and other Ramblings: March 2011

Monday, March 7, 2011. Green Eggs and Ham. It was a hit with both kids. I like green eggs and ham! I like them Sam-I-am! No gags or complaints were heard out of baby girl. She ate everything on her tray. Her green eggs consisted of mashed potatoes that had been blended with some steamed spinach. I used my handy little cookie scoop (mentioned in another entry) to get a perfectly-rounded "green yoke" on her egg white. Enjoying the pink ink drink, but not so certain about the green eggs. 1 1/2 c milk. Subsc...

Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Ginger Ale Can Baked Chicken Recipe. After I have tried a recipe, I usually make some modifications by adding some hints that the original author didn’t include thinking that all self-taught cooks would know…but we don’t. So, hopefully, this will contribute to your success in the kitchen! Ginger Ale Can Baked Chicken. 1 3-4 ½ lb chicken. 2-3 TBSP butter at room temperature. 189; tsp salt, pepper, garlic powder each, mixed and put into a small bowl r empty spice shaker.
