Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Not much of an update on the house. Just that we are STILL working on the foundation. We've put in enough rebar to hold up the Statue of Liberty! The most exciting thing that has happened lately is we found our double ovens! We came across a great deal on Wolf double wall ovens. One major purchase down, a few hundred more to go. Tuesday, June 30, 2009. After much heartburn, we've finally recieved the permit for house! We went through many changes, additions, etc! We are super happy with the plans and are looking forward to starting on the house as soon as the garage is complete. Here is the final set of plans for all to see. Oh happy day! Friday, May 28, 2010. We are getting closer! Looking back at my last post on 3/30 makes us say WOW! I can't believe it has changed so much in the past couple of months. We now have floors, cabinets, tile, 1 completed bathroom, porch railing, and so much more! A few weeks ago we moved from camping in the garage to camping in the house! The bugs and heat were getting worse and I didn't want to deal with it another day! So close to getting Berkeley County out of our hair! Sunday breakfast in the garage.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010. We've been so busy with the house lately! The weather is nicer and the days are longer, which makes for good work time. I haven't updated the blog since JANUARY! Here are some pictures of our progress since then. Windows in and ready for siding! Russ, Mr. Glen, and Mr. David putting up the first piece of siding. Siding progress during the first night. Attic space, may eventually be a second story. All the silver stuff is the HVAC. Looking from our bedroom down the hall at night!

Thursday, August 27, 2009. I know, I know, I know. I haven't posted in FOREVER! Things have been too busy to think about the blog! Between working on our jobs, working on the house, putting up with heat exhaustion, feeling sick, trying to catch up on sleep, lack of sleep, etc., I haven't thought about the blog in a while. Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Always room for improvement. Ever since we started building the interior walls I've been second guessing where EVERYTHING is going! It is a good and bad thing that we are doing this by ourselves. The good thing is that I can change something while in the middle of building it. Sunday, January 2, 2011. The house that we built. Last September we moved in furniture and took an extended leave from working on getting this house complete. I'm just going to say it - We got L.A.Z.Y! I blame the TV, the stove and the couch. Yes, we needed a break, but I don't think we thought it would be this long! Saturday, September 4, 2010. We've moved our furniture in! It is a complete mess but we are loving it! Not even close to being finished with the house but at least we sleep in our room, on a real mattress sitting on a real bed frame. Life is good. This scene made me start crying. I've missed my furniture so much! After we moved everything in, Russ went to the piano first. This is a picture I snapped without him knowing it. Another tear jerker. I love when he plays! It is so awesome! First coat of finish!

Friday, October 15, 2010. Things have slowed down significantly since moving in! It is amazing how "lazy" we got once our goal of moving in was met! We've also been super busy with travel and work! But, we've decided to step it up because we have dear friends coming to stay with us in a few weeks! Figured we at least needed doors to the bathroom and bedrooms. :). One of the most exciting events lately is our 4th anniversary on October 13th! I heart you Russ! Here's what we've done lately on the house:.
