Big Screen Small Words

Monday, August 17. Blind Spot: Princess Mononoke. Saturday, August 15. Solomon's Perjury Part 1: Suspicion. I dont want a lot of Japanese movies that have a mystery as its main theme. However, I do enjoy how they tackle mystery. From what Ive seen, they like their build ups and their twists. Solomons Perjury has those qualities, a lenghtly feature divided into two separate films. Unfortunately I only got to watch the build up but Im quite interested on how the second part turns out to be. Friday, July 3.

Big Screen Small Words: Blind Spot: Princess Mononoke

http://www.bigscreensmallwords.blogspot.com/2015/08/princess-mononoke.html

Monday, August 17. Blind Spot: Princess Mononoke. So what failed to resonate with me? Sadly I do not have a clear answer to that. It was a well-rounded film with strong characters, a direct story and great animation. When thinking of the studio’s body of work, San can make a memorable character, but can be quickly overshadowed by other notable characters. Mononoke’s story does stand out from the works of Hayao Miyazaki, but it is his other acclaimed creations that take the lead. August 17, 2015 at 7:49 PM.

Big Screen Small Words: Pure

http://www.bigscreensmallwords.blogspot.com/2015/05/pure.html

Sunday, May 3. Katarina is labelled as troubled. She's anti-social, has violent episodes, and people have been calling her crazy and mentally unstable. However, when she found music (in particular, Mozart), she was able to find solace from her miserable life. After watching a concert, she coincidentally found herself a job in the concert hall, landing her new problems - particularly when she launches into an affair with a conductor. Alicia Vikander, Samuel Fröler, Josephine Bauer. May 3, 2015 at 9:29 PM.

Big Screen Small Words: The African Queen

http://www.bigscreensmallwords.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-african-queen.html

Tuesday, March 24. I don't usually schedule my blind spot viewings beforehand, but before I knew it March was coming to an end and I still haven't gone to watch any of the movies. The African Queen landed on my blind spot list because it was something that I was told was a fantastic movie. I thought, why not go with this one? I got hooked from the opening credits alone, so this must be a good sign. *Note: this post contains spoilers*. Humphrey Bogart, Katharine Hepburn, Robert Morley.
