BK's Big Baseball Page: Ballpark #19- Fenway Park, Boston, MA
http://billsbigbaseballpage.blogspot.com/2012/05/ballpark-19-fenway-park-boston-ma.html
BK's Big Baseball Page. Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Ballpark #19- Fenway Park, Boston, MA. Team: Boston Red Sox. Futures at Fenway featuring the P-Nats (7/10/10). My strangest history with a ballpark is Fenway. I have been to 3 games there, driven over 8 hours each way twice to go there, yet I have never seen a full game at Fenway. And somehow it is one of the best ballpark experiences I have had. How's that, you say? So, what happened? We're on the board. View from the top of the Green Monster. NASCAR Pit Cr...

BK's Big Baseball Page: July 2011
http://billsbigbaseballpage.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
BK's Big Baseball Page. Monday, July 18, 2011. Ballpark #9- Roger Dean Stadium, Jupiter, FL. Teams Seen: St. Louis Cardinals (Spring Training); Florida Marlins (Spring Training). Most Recent Visit: 3/8/03. And Roger Dean fits those criteria- and it's also unique in that it has two MLB teams sharing the stadium- the Florida Marlins and the St Louis Cardinals. This is becoming more commonplace in the Cactus League in Arizona, but is still a rarity in Florida. So what does this mean? My only complaint about...

BK's Big Baseball Page: June 2010
http://billsbigbaseballpage.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
BK's Big Baseball Page. Thursday, June 03, 2010. Griffey looked like the soon-to-be all time home run king as late as 2001-02, but injuries slowed him considerably. Still, I am glad to say I saw him play and saw one of his home runs with Cincinnati. And I would consider him a top-10 all time hitter. And one final note- how old am I that a legend of 23 years played his entire career in my adult lifetime? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). This blog approved by Fred McGriff. Majors- 30 (26 current).

BK's Big Baseball Page. Monday, May 24, 2010. 24" Clock Ticks Down to Zero. Sunday, May 23, 2010. Was mostly nights, so I wasn't watching much. But in the summer of 2005, we started watching the re-airing of Season 1.and were forever hooked. Through 6 seasons of mysteries, romance, life, death, time-travel, and allusions to dozens of books, spiritualities, and movies, we get our answers tonight. But what if we don't? What if they pull a "Sopranos" and leave it up to us? Thursday, May 20, 2010. For drivin...

BK's Big Baseball Page: September 2011
http://billsbigbaseballpage.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
BK's Big Baseball Page. Sunday, September 18, 2011. Ballpark #14- RFK Stadium, Washington, DC. Washington Nationals' 1st-ever home game (4/14/05), Jimmy Rollins' 36-game hitting streak (10/2/05), got engaged to Staci (7/4/06), last-ever game at RFK (9/23/07). When I first visited RFK Stadium in 2004, it was not for baseball- it was, for all things, soccer. How did that happen? Opening Night at RFK- 2005. Staci and I- Nats Finale 2005. Nats Attendance 2005- they'd kill for this now. Thursday, September 08...

BK's Big Baseball Page: Ballpark #18- Coastal Federal Field, Myrtle Beach, SC
http://billsbigbaseballpage.blogspot.com/2012/05/ballpark-18-coastal-federal-field.html
BK's Big Baseball Page. Thursday, May 17, 2012. Ballpark #18- Coastal Federal Field, Myrtle Beach, SC. Teams Seen: Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Braves) 1999-present. Most Recent Visit: 8/18/07. Future/Rehabbing Stars Seen: Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Elvis Andrus. It's kind of strange that in the 10 years that Myrtle Beach was our main vacation spot, I only got to two games. Why is that? As for the stadium itself- a finely structured stadium, especially for the high-A level. Plenty of open space, a nice kids' a...

BK's Big Baseball Page. Thursday, October 06, 2011. Ballpark #15- Shea Stadium, New York, NY. Team: New York Mets. The horror finally ended in 2009 when the Mets moved into Citi Field, a state of the art facility built right next door to Shea (more on that later). The irony was that Citi Field was built to resemble and honor the Brooklyn Dodgers' Ebbets Field. If the Dodgers had stayed in New York, there would have been no Mets, and Brooklyn would have moved to Queens, and into.Shea Stadium. I am so incr...

BK's Big Baseball Page: April 2010
http://billsbigbaseballpage.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
BK's Big Baseball Page. Monday, April 12, 2010. I had my iPod on shuffle this morning when the 1987 hit "At This Moment" by Billy Vera and The Beaters started playing. When anyone of a certain age (30-40ish) hears this song, they are almost certain to be reminded of the hit show "Family Ties." It got me to thinking about how this song was a part of the mid-80's revolution of shows and the use of music. Friday, April 09, 2010. A Day in The Season- 4/8. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). BK's Big Baseball Page: Ballpark #17- PNC Park, Pittsburgh, PA
http://billsbigbaseballpage.blogspot.com/2012/05/ballpark-17-pnc-park-pittsburgh-pa.html
BK's Big Baseball Page. Wednesday, May 09, 2012. Ballpark #17- PNC Park, Pittsburgh, PA. Andy LaRoche 6 RBI game (9/28/09). As recently as 1994 Pittsburgh was in danger of losing the Pirates beacuse of ballpark concerns with the dilapidated Three Rivers Stadium. It was nothing short of a miracle when PNC Park was built in 2001, and became part of the short list of the great ballparks. It's a shame the Pirates have stunk for 20 years, beacuse their jewel of a ballpark sits half-empty most nights. I am so ...
