A while back I exchanged emails with Chef Ben who pens the blog Cooking with the Single Guy. He suggested that we try one of the Izakaya (Japanese pub) places which seem to be popping up all over town. We decided on Nihon Whisky Lounge, which has been on my list of places to try for a while. We got there early enough to have our choice of tables, so we grabbed a low round ...

I’m a long way from done, even if you’re complete. It's a penny to leave, and even less to stay. I believe in signs. I believe that if someone goes to a phone shop with the intention to buy a phone and it is out of stock, you were not meant to have the phone. Move on with your life. Thus, I address you from foreign bytes, my first step into a new phase. Welcome to the next phase. Thursday, October 14, 2004. If you go away remembering this message, then I have met my objective. Lunch at Fiesta Tepa Sahuayo, Watsonville. April 15, 2008 at 2:52 pm ( addictive food shrine. 15 First Street, Watsonville, CA I posted about this before on 1-22-07. Tepa Sahuayo really is a hole in the wall, but worth seeking out. The last time we ate here. So Mr K got a trio with three different sauces. Rose Petal Sauce with shrimp enchilada.

The best kind of Potluck. April 29, 2008 at 6:53 pm ( Uncategorized. Let me start with dessert, a very fine Creme Brulee. Next, let me point out the other star of the show. This is Beef Rendang. It was delicious with plain steamed rice, of which there was plenty. Ali asked (begged… insistently) Winoto to try to get the recipe and we all joined in, clamoring that we must have the recipe. Here it is in a typical format as dictated by the home chef. Here is the Rendang info I received from my mom:. She cook...

In the arms of slumber, leave it all behind. Laquo; To love. A change of scenery. Rolling with the Pack. July 19, 2010 by beckles. I was sorely proven wrong. Literally. My hands were red from hanging on to that darn purple leash. The day began, bright and early at 8:30am, with this boy. He was the epitome of an eager beaver. Next up was Tassie. I met her. I figured by this point that it was almost time. For lunch but I could do another dog…I thought, hey, that little guy next to Tassie would probab...
