Monday, August 29, 2011. We finally made it to “Il Dolomiti” Sunday afternoon. Jane found our hotel nestled halfway up the hillside in the ridiculously quaint village of Ortesei. “We have a problem,” the receptionist said with a frown when I told her my name. Friday, August 26, 2011. Congratulations to all the riders who rode PBP. 1200 km is a long way. The weather was described by some as "biblical" which, as usual, was not a good thing. Finishing in the time limit is amazing, but my hat is off to those who made the journey, spent the money and huge amounts of energy to even begin. Congrats especially, of course to Rick who finished safe and sound just 15 minutes after I arrived at the finish line, in less than 82 hours. Posted by Blacker News. So Far So Good.
