Self-important ramblings, oh yes. Monday, October 31, 2005. Okay, so every time I say "Ken and I are getting together tomorrow," something comes up and we end up not getting together. Ken and I are NOT scheduled to get together. Posted by scott at 10:01 PM. Thursday, October 27, 2005. Okay, so last weekend. Cerberus Shoal. Twice both times with the amazing Micah Blue Smaldone. Taking a break from "serious" literature after plowing headlong through William Vollmann's massive The Royal Family. A friend of ...

Self-important ramblings, oh yes. Tuesday, February 28, 2006. As you may have heard, Don Knotts. Died last Friday. I grew up on his movies, from The Ghost And Mr. Chicken. To The Apple Dumpling Gang. To The Private Eyes. I always felt a connection to the man, as we shared a birthday. Completing the celebrity death trifecta, I'd also like to bid adieu to Dennis Weaver. Please join me in a moment of silence for these under-appreciated actors. Posted by scott at 8:44 AM. Wednesday, February 22, 2006. And Ca...

Self-important ramblings, oh yes. Saturday, November 19, 2005. That will remain unnamed, though a number of years apart. It was very cool to meet him. The other cool thing was that I was standing right next to Doug McCombs and Bundy Brown (both of Eleventh Dream Day and Tortoise), and Bob Weston (Mission of Burma, Shellac) was about ten feet away. So much greatness in one room was overwhelming. Posted by scott at 11:21 AM. Tuesday, November 08, 2005. Sorry for the delay. The new film about Wal Mart.

Welcome to my mind. It's kinda dark in here. bring a flashlight. We finally got in! But it was pretty underwhelming. Posted by mikraas at 12:40 PM. I just want to say that i am luckiest person in the whole world right now. i don't know why i feel this way. well, that's not entirely true. Just getting forgiveness from someone whom you had (have) a tremendous respect for is a great, great thing. And if he happens to read this, i just want to say one thing:. Posted by mikraas at 11:47 AM. Flash from the past.

Self-important ramblings, oh yes. Tuesday, May 21, 2002. There appear to be problems with my so-called blog. I still might wind up getting a damn livejournal, because I realized people can't respond on this thing. Stay tuned. Posted by scott at 4:34 PM. Friday, May 17, 2002. I know it might seem kind of pointless to keep recording stuff when I haven't even released anything yet, but I'm preparing for my career-ending box set. No, not really. Posted by scott at 12:05 AM. Tuesday, May 14, 2002. So I was go...

Self-important ramblings, oh yes. Wednesday, January 25, 2006. Not that anyone will ever hear it, but I recorded last night for the first time in a while. The deadline for the second installment of the group recording project Caleb is curating is nearing, and I hadn't recorded a damn thing for it. The instructions for the song, by Alex Lukashevsky. Posted by scott at 9:37 AM. Saturday, January 21, 2006. So far, I've read Robert Coover's John's Wife. Posted by scott at 5:35 PM. Tuesday, January 10, 2006.

Self-important ramblings, oh yes. Wednesday, July 27, 2005. Mitre: now with more low end. Back in Chicago. The bass made it through okay, which was a pleasant surprise. I got a great little pamphlet from the Transit Security Agency (or whatever the hell TSA stands for) explaining that they'd had to open the case to ensure that it wasn't anything dangerous. If they'd only known. So now mitre has low end. But what to do with it, exactly? Back (slavishly) to the grind. Posted by scott at 9:43 AM. Take THAT,...
